Love gather your rosebuds while you may
'Cause once the night arrives it's here to stay
Love gather your rosebuds while you may
'Cause the end is coming but it's okay

We know there's
We know there's no turning back
And the road ahead
The road ahead is burned to black
Love gather your rosebuds while you may
'Cause once the night arrives it's here to stay
Love gather your rosebuds while you may
'Cause the end is coming but it's okay

We're on the train with
We're on the train with no name
We're on the train with
We're on the train with no name, no name

We know there's
We know there's no turning back
No that road behind us
And the road ahead is burned to black

Love gather your rosebuds while you may
'Cause once the night arrives it's here to stay
Love gather your rosebuds while you may
'Cause the end is coming but it's okay

We're on the train with
We're on the train with no name
We're on the train with
We're on the train with no name, I know we're

We're on the train with
We're on the train with no name
We're on the train with
We're on the train with no name, no name

The Veils are creating gems. with a great consistancy

Gawd with this song. Make it stop! As if the The Shins didn't get so annoying with their precision nervousness that you want to kick 'em out of the house and to the institution and/or street, whichever comes first. This band is like a dull-knifed The Shins. On a good day.

Or you're on the wrong station. Try the Mellow mix or PSD or Pandora Dave Mathews Band. His "precision dullness" might suit you.

Oh no wait!! Alt-J: Precision Limpness!
I like this. Yes, I can see how you could lump it in with a lot of modern radio rock, of the time, but there's actually a bit more to it than meets the eye. Quality stuff. With a pedigree like they have, no wonder!
Good Tune!
Cool tune, socko boffo......
Great song from a very solid album!

He’s got that early Bono croak when he hits the top notes....

It does seem like the Bay Area is figuratively burning down. I'm about to move up there as it happens. It's probably a stupid idea....
Why is that house on fire?

I take it as a strong suggestion to PRAY THE ROSARY every day while you can... otherwise, you know you're just on a (train wreck) path burned to black!  Take heed!  Hail Mary...

I'll lay bets that Bill knows what I'm talking about...  he just followed this song with some U2 "Until the End of the World".    ....  Yup.   Get your soul ready!!!   God Bless everyone.   123

But are freakin awesome so get a 10 for their good work...

Always think this is Lord Huron, then "oh, yeah - the Veils". Great to dance around with when doing tedious housework-y crap.
Odd choice to have 3 days this week.

And Rosebud wasn't really a sled either... 8-)

Or, it's excellent. Almost as good as the Shins.

Sounds a bit like a Monsters of Folk tune...
reminds me of a bunch of guys playing guitars and drums and singing
my all-time favorite song
I thought this was some new Arcade Fire. Not sure what to make of that.
Where The Trains Have No Names.
Classy Jangly...keep me young guys
Great song and band.

 Hello coloradojohn!
Was walking in the lanes when this song turned up in my headphones, the drums made me want to dance, there, on my way home, all along, ha!

Nothing to add really except it is a very nice song but I absolutely adore Waterhouse so wanted to repost his painting to the top so more people can enjoy it.

I've been through the desert on a train with no name, and it really did feel good to be...

oh nevermind. {#Eh}

The lyrics are a little melancholy, but so is the poem upon which they are loosely based.

Growing on me. Upgrade to 8.  (Feb 2015: Now 9)

A train wreck of a song, in the best way!
If sounding like U-2 is what this band has set out to do, they accomplished their goal. Like U-2, I don't care for them very much. Wimpy and whiney.
Wow.  First time I've heard this song, or anything from this band.  Had to stop and listen.  Good stuff.

Fatalistic, anti- wake up call on climate change, et al? I have more hope in the folks including myself taking action to change course than this ... But love this song beside the point when I feel low ... Then I remember hope ... Doh! :)

Aren't they a bit long in the tooth to be 'promising'? I saw then over 10 years ago and they weren't a new band then! This is their fourth album I think (assuming I have them all) and theirs at least a couple of EPs too...

Love the song and John William Waterhouse too
I only knew John Waterhouse's "Lady of Shallot" and couldn't have told you that he painted it. Love the "Gather Ye Rosebuds While Ye May" painting, zepher. Here's another Waterhouse:

painting by John William Waterhouse: "The Soul of the Rose"
