Oh yonder stands little Maggie
With a dram glass in her hands
She's drinking away her troubles
She's a courting some other man
Oh how can I ever stand it
Just to see them two blue eyes
A shining in the moonlight
Like two diamonds in the sky
Last time a saw little Maggie
She was sitting on the banks of the sea
With a forty-four around her
And a banjo on her knee
Lay down your last gold dollar
Lay down your gold watch and chain
Little Maggie's gonna dance for daddy
Listen to that old banjo ring
Pretty flowers were made for blooming
Pretty stars were made to shine
Pretty women were made for loving
Little Maggie was made for mine

The whole thing is lacking. It's terrible.

there are several arrangements of this traditional old tune that i first heard done by the Kingston Trio, and i still love that version. one of my parent's better records

not enjoying the donkey being sawn in half... just sayin
It's almost weird how well machine drumming combines with the Celtic airs.
Interesting composition, arrangement and production.

But once again, Plant contributes little more than annoying droning drivel.
The number of potentially cool songs in which his performance is a detraction is high for me..

Don't be too hard on her.  She hit a bug in our website that caused her post to not show up when it should have, so she tried again, and again...
This guy is starting to irritate me.
I always hear a little Beastie Boys riff in this tune...
Is this his band? Are they channeling Afro-Celt Sound System? Hello Google....

If she had only typed it eleven times the entire universe may have exploded - or maybe that's what she thought.

I will give you $10 for it
Die instrumentale Arbeit ist einfach der Hammer. Die Vocals sind wie ich finde eher schwach.

The lyrics on here are for a different version of Little Maggie - not Robert Plant's version. Any idea how to report the error?

This reminds me of the old Steve Martin routine ... "Teach him to talk *wrong*."

Can I mambo dogface to the banana patch?

Bumped up to a 2. Plant does river dance
not bad!!
bumping to a 7.
It's not LZ but this album is really fantastic. Sounds modern but melodically as a good composition of '70's. I like it, but I don't love it. Genius Plant is too old and voice it's not the same, but my congratulations to him because we can enjoy it much years. Thank you Robert
i heard good things about this album but have yet to hear a song that moves me even half as much as any LZ song.
Got to see them in Chicago for the last concert of the American Tour. Amazing!
I have grown tired of this song
Saw him in Munich last month, really good concert.
For some reason this sounds to me like Robert Plant's equivalent of Sting's "Desert Rose."
Also, I liked this more once the vocals ended, surely not what the massively noggin'd Mr. Plant intended. :-/

Unlikely since that show predates this album's release by several years.

Everyone probably loves the hotel room, too. Even aliens need a place to lay down their scaly, tentacled heads.
baez to dylan to plant. I think I am going to orgasm. Is Yorke next?
After too much of a Plant based diet, I could use a little MeatLoaf!
Please go practise somewhere else.

This is some scatterbrained, nearly-unlistenable s*it. He's expanded this envelope beyond the critical point, yielding this sad stuff. Time to move on.

A little digital Robert.

Once again, Robert proves that he is relevant, and his talent still runs deep.

Makes one wonder, what has Jimmy been doing all these years?  Sure, he remastered a past catalog, but other than that, he really hasn't done anything since the Page/Plant project in the 1990s.

Plant has definitely had the vastly more interesting solo career.  This is another example.

However, Page may well be, likely is, leading a rewarding life and not simply twiddling away the cash.  He is just not doing it in public. btw, That remastering was no small undertaking and took several years to complete.
Loves to sing and keeps singing. Love it.
Wow, I did not think Celtic music could get more irritating...
I never ceased to be amazed by Robert Plant's continual evolution as an artist.
Love Mr. Plant's voice. He really can't do wrong.
Yeah! I heard Plant interviewed on NPR yesterday. They played a bit of this song, and I was hoping to hear it on RP. Love this interpretation of a classic.
whoa.  coolio.

Kind of a frenetic, bluegrass - world music mash up thing. I too, am quite enamored of his latest effort. Bravo Mr. Plant! {#Clap}

Jimmy needs cash and is trying to convince the rest of the band to do a tour.
Second song today, heard an nice interview with him on NPR  and he said he tried doing this when he did the duet with Allison Krauss but just could not make it work, actually he said is sucked.  Decide to go with the African banjo player and more of a world music feel to it.

Boy, no moss grows under Mr. Plant.
