Oh, misty eye of the mountain below
Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls
And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke
Keep watching over Durin's sons

If this is to end in fire
Then we should all burn together
Watch the flames climb high into the night

Calling out father oh
Stand by and we will
Watch the flames burn auburn on
The mountain side

And if we should die tonight
Then we should all die together
Raise a glass of wine for the last time

Calling out father oh
Prepare as we will
Watch the flames burn auburn on
The mountain side
Desolation comes upon the sky

Now I see fire
Inside the mountain
I see fire
Burning the trees
And I see fire
Hollowing souls
I see fire
Blood in the breeze
And I hope that you remember me

Oh, should my people fall
Then surely I'll do the same
Confined in mountain halls
We got too close to the flame

Calling out father oh
Hold fast and we will
Watch the flames burn auburn on
The mountain side
Desolation comes upon the sky

Now I see fire
Inside the mountain
I see fire
Burning the trees
I see fire
Hollowing souls
I see fire
Blood in the breeze
And I hope that you remember me

And if the night is burning
I will cover my eyes
For if the dark returns
Then my brothers will die
And as the sky is falling down
It crashed into this lonely town
And with that shadow upon the ground
I hear my people screaming out

Now I see fire
Inside the mountains
I see fire
Burning the trees
I see fire
Hollowing souls
I see fire
Blood in the breeze

I see fire (oh you know I saw a city burning out) (fire)
And I see fire (feel the heat upon my skin, yeah) (fire)
And I see fire (uh-uh-uh-uh) (fire)
And I see fire burn auburn on the mountain side

Then don’t listen simple as that
If I'm not mistaken, was this written for Lord of the Rings?
I knew this station was going to go to crap, get this shit off R.P.
I heard the first line and thought to my self Elton John. Maybe it was the accent or the tone, not sure as an accent blind American, i cant say what it was.
But all in all I like this tune.
I like that RP is inclusive even if I don't care for the genre
yawn
I like it. I like how RP can pick up less well-known songs from popular artists and put them in the playlist - and catches the listener a little bit off guard. Its an unexpected discovery.
No comments in 7 years? Guess this is freshly back in the rotation. I'm not a huge Sheeran fan, but I appreciate the LotR reference.
Not usual RP choice. No desire to hear it again.

And there's the band X from the 70s onward.

What are we talking about again?  :-)

ouch.
Like this....
sounds a lil like early Tracy Chapman.....
thank you ......   nice nice......

Very bland pop - why I don't like mainstream radio, which I expect would love this syrupy number.

Striking similitude to the The XX's 2009 debut album cover, differences being the color and font style, and the title: XX. Actually all The XX's album covers to date feature a single X. Here's a link to the cover for their second album "Coexist"

Nice. But for closing music, I loved Billy Boyd's "The Last Goodbye".
Kind of sappy, but Pippin can sure sing.

That pesky 24th letter, though it's apparently intended to be a mathematical symbol on this album.
Not the best track to play at the moment!
Not an Ed fan but I think with this song he captured the proper imagery for the middle earth saga. Like him or not that story is a classic with many parallels to the insanity of today's coping days!
All I can say is he seems to have a large following for some reason.  That future tattoo removal surgery could be painful, though.

Very lovely, not something I'd normally like, but love the base and emotion - trying to place why this is striking me as a cover
Can't really say if this song is one-dimensional, because this was the first book I've ever read in my life and I'm too biased.
Anyway, goosebumps and feels all the way. Keep it up RP
I successfully dodged the One Direction craziness, as junior genius is too young for them to be on the radar. That said, he is RIGHT THERE with the Middle Earth-ness. As the credits-and song- commenced, he wailed, "OH, NO, they're all going to DIE!" into the theater. Good times.
I logged in to see if RP was actually playing One Direction.  {#Eh}  Relieved that wasn't the case, but then I looked up Ed Sheeran...who has written songs for One Direction. Aaaah, that's it. I rarely complain about songs that get played on RP and I like a lot of guilty pleasures that others don't seem to want played here again, but this one just strikes me as well below Paradise standards in general. Not terrible, but so bland and generic sounding. Like a boy band.

My teenage girls LOVE Ed Sheeran, and as a result I have listened to a lot of his stuff.  I have to admit they usually have pretty good taste (hard not to, after being force feed RP for all these years {#Laughing}), but the One Direction phase was hard.  The one good thing that came out of it was that they found Ed, one of their early songwriters.  He is SO much better than them.  I suspect he will mature into a very solid musician.
Good stuff.
Confession: I rewound the end credits at least ten times on the Hobbit DVD just so I could hear this song before sending it back to Netflix.
Holy smokes, this is fantastic!
