I was close... can't prove it, but I think they're pronounced "chee-chuh." Here's part of their bio on their website:

"Their interpretation of chicha - Peruvian cumbia made popular in the Amazon and poor barrios of Lima during the 60’s and 70’s - surprisingly reveals a common thread within the music of Arizona’s desert: an obsession for hard-edge guitars and a strong taste for mixing rock and Latin flavours."

1) Chicha or Peruvian cumbia is a subgenre of Cumbia that became popular in the coastal cities of Peru, mainly in Lima in the 1960s through the fusion of local versions of the original Colombian genre, traditional highland huayno, and rock music, particularly surf rock and psychedelic rock. The term Chicha is more frequently used for the pre-1990s variations of the subgenre.

2) Chicha = corn beer! I'll raise a glass to this new band and their funky cool rock trippy sound. {#Cheers}
