My brother led me outside
Be quiet, I've got a light
No moon tonight

Sitting on the ledge outside the second floor
We could hear the sirens running up the road

White horses for Chicago
Black water brings me back home

October, I lose my mind
Cross over Wisconsin line
Apple cider signs

Looking for a trace of our orchard underground
Growing in the basements beneath a brand new town

White horses for Chicago
Black water brings me back home

Every year it's about the same
I'm swimming in my dreams across the lake
In second place
Come the winter I'm driving blind
A tuxedo doing doughnuts on the ice
Black-and-white on white

Doesn't matter if I sleep or follow it out of bed
I know that in the morning it's water in my head

White horses for Chicago
Black water brings me back home

Not handing out a "minus" here, but just pointing out this group doesn't get a "+1" for a cool band name.

Okay, I'll play your silly game. Which side is darling on?

The other side.
if they come anywhere near you, go see them.  Saw them in an intimate theater live and was blown away by their talent & performance.
They are simply exquisite.
So grateful to RP for introducing me to them. ❤️❤️
I really love this... it feels close, intimate, like an invited friend for a glass of wine on the balcony.

Why are they whispering?...so odd....

It's a style of singing.  Have you ever heard heavy metal?  Opera?  Folk?

Why are they whispering?...so odd....
Channels Jefferson Airplane?
A slightly more energetic version of the Sufjan Stevens' scene?
Overplayed! Because it’s GREAT! 👂🙏🐾🐾🧡🎶🦋🇦🇺🍯🥰👍horse emoji here too!!

Delightfully beautiful harmonies, across classic music, and an engaging beats, drums, violin, keys! Wow these folks have hit the lot
Let's give a hand to all the effort throughout the world involved in finding a vaccine for this virus.
Thank you Bill for playing Darlingside. These four musicians from Boston via Williams College are extremely talented and engaging in live performances. I hope that more of their beautiful music is played on RP.
BTW, the (fluctuating) choreography to this one ends nicely with the now-classic Megan Rapinoe pose.

Hope you got a chance to see them live. I've seen them a couple times in San Francisco, and they are fabulous. Plus for the last song they got down in the audience, everyone got really quiet and it was just lovely.
OK, just gonna close eyes and jump and move to a 10 now.
This song is exquisite. Every play takes me to a different place. Today it evoked the wonderful movie I'd long forgotten all about, Impromptu, and of Hugh Grant's seemingly never mentioned but also exquisite performance as Frederic Chopin in that.

Went to Wikipedia to look it up, and sure enough someone had quoted David Yearsley in CounterPunch this about Grant as Chopin in that:

"Hugh Grant ... [for] his definitive turn as Frederic Chopin .... Grant gave us a pale and haughty genius, seemingly self-assured yet painfully fragile beneath the façade, and not just because of his hacking ill health. As the rigid yet passionate composer-pianist, Grant has never been funnier or truer."

It all turns back to music, eventually.

Such an astonishingly beautiful, rich song. I've likely said that before here. But it just blows me away every time.

Kind of overstated.
Voices in your head?
What a perfectly precious and lovely song. Ahhh the youths.
I really like their wistful, happy, thoughtful sounds, more than some other acts in their genre.

I politely disagree with you… {#Music}

Perhaps his manlier, less weepy cousin?

I saw this group opening for Lake Street Dive.  Not impressed. Nothing horrible, but nothing particularly memorable, either.  Generic and safe lite folk/rock, perfect for a summer evening at a sterile and pretentious venue.  White wine and fancy cheeses were abundant.

What a lovely song.
First time hearing Darlingside. Very nice
Quietly gorgeous...
Man, these guys are so good!  Very quiet approach, but it really grows on you.  Saw them live at the XPN Fest this year - awesome!
Ditto. Not again.
I like it, but it must have become your theme tune.

Oh no, not again. Ok Bill, if you play this again in the next 2 days I'm going from 4 -> 3. So there {#Nyah}
Madman is back2back on darlingside.
This is getting played too often IMHO
First time hearing this band for me — one of those look-up-from-desk-who-is-that moments. Now I know.

I see they have some free music on Noisetrade.
I'm another convert to Darlingside after hearing them open for Patty Griffin. Seen them twice more since. Always a great live show! This disc is great, and "White Horses" isn't even close to their best track. Check out the rockin' "Blow the House Down" or the introspective "My Love" from their first release, Pilot Machines.

Yeah, Youtube is pretty addictive...

That's how I was introduced to them, also, at the show in Asheville, NC.

I'm a big fan of their stuff, though this song isn't my favorite. I've uploaded a couple of their songs to the LRC / Submissions section, if anyone wants to check out any of their other songs.

Saw them live last summer - excellent show, great tunes.  I'm really happy to see that they're being played here!

Really nice at first listen
