Are we on the lonely side
Say oh, oh, oh now
The past long away
Are we so lost in the dark of our hearts
That oh, oh, oh, oh
There's no light of day
No, oh, oh, oh
No, oh, oh, oh

1, 2, 3, 4!

Somebody left the gate open
You know we got lost on the way
Come save us a runaway train gone insane

How do we, how do we not fade...
How do we, how do we, how do we not fade away
How do we, how do we, ooooh

Into the wild
How are we living living living
Into the wild
How are we living living living

Oh please believe me
I'm more scared than not
That, whoa, this isn't the way
And please be there I can barely hang on
Whoa, oh, oh, I wait 'til I break
Hey, eh, eh, eh...

Somebody left the gate open
You know we got lost on the way
Come save us the runaway train gone insane

How do we, how do we not fade...
How do we, how do we, how do we not fade away
How do we, how do we, ooooh

Into the wild
How are we living living living
Into the wild
How are we living living living

Into the wild
How are we living living living
Into the wild
How are we living living living

Love the whistle.  It's right in an octave similar to mine, so easy to whistle along to....so how do we how do we how do we not fade away?  That's a easy question to answer.  Whistle as you go.  Hey, it works for me.  šŸ˜

Just shouting muck.

I've always loved music and one thing I recognized from an early age is that even if I don't like a particular song or style of music, I always respect what into making that song. It could be the production, how well it's mixed or recorded, or the emotion the artist put into the performance. There is always something "great" about any performance, even if we don't personally like it.

Well said.  Someone somewhere loves every piece of music that has ever been recorded.

As a specific example, I'll bet US$20 that LP did not compose and record this song to please me.  Doesn't matter; somebody somewhere dearly loves this track.

LP prefers "them", which is obvious from the adjacent panel.

That was her??   I always wondered who sang that!  I love that song.  And I'm digging this one, too.  Maybe it's time to place an order...

Well, after having placed that order, I have to say that her songwriting skills are sharp, and we don't even need to talk about her vocal skills.

But the album bugged me a bit, though, because it's SO overproduced.  It's like she's begging for the kids' attention with the dance club  production (this track is the least offensive in that regard).  Fortunately, this album came with a bonus disc of live recordings, which are much more palatable than the overproduced studio versions.  It misses some of the vocal harmonies, but it's a worthwhile trade-off to 86 the technopop vibe.

I'm interested in hearing other stuff by her, but before I place the order, does anybody know how this album compares to her others in terms of overproduction?

She's not your mom, or your angry girlfriend. She just using her gift to its fullest. More power to her, I say.

I used to consider releasing your song to a commercial to be selling out...When I was young and didn't understand the world.

Now I recognize how difficult it is do be an artist of any flavor and actually make a living.  So when the advertising agency with some cool hipster picking commercial music for ads comes knocking, and offers you a dump truck full of money to use your song in a commercial I say "take the money and run!

Let that support what you really want to do for as long as it can.  It's not selling out its being a good business person.  And remember it's ALL a business.
Hey, eh, eh, eh...

In the year 2050, people will be able to identify 2010s music by that vocal lick, similar to the millenial whoop.
Why is she shouting? Absolutely awful.
I like this. Has a Florence + Machine vibe. However...it's a bit 'yelly'.

Got me to look up and listen to that track, "Cinderella". Nice connection I didn't know about...

She could do some mean Neko Case covers.
Iā€™d like to know what percentage of Radio Paradise listeners are male.
I guess whoever left the gate open must be the one who let the dogs out.

Singing very loud doesn't mean it's beautiful...
wow, LP, long time no see in RP. Shame
Wow I'm hearing Neko Case. Have never heard of LP before. Love it!

Could I have some vocal fry with that glottal stop, lease?
She looks like a love child of Bob Dylan and Lou Reed
(I like her music, my comment is not a negative one!).

With some "Andrew Bird whistles" thrown in for good measure
Please check the release date. This song appeared first in late 2011 to promote Chase's Visa or Master Card (I forgot). And then, some more LP please
no. this is kohls music.
Can you say " Neko Stefani " !
Meh.....
The gate needs oiling!
The joyful call to arms; is as valid a subject for a song as anything else.
Goodness! So much crap bundled up in one song:  overblown production, autotune, ridiculous whistling, ultra-enthusiastic singing and so on.

Was it just me?

Starting off my first thought was..."Gwen Stefani?"

In any case a good tune to take, if you're a pilot, flying with you.

Start it off at take up, and crank it up as you reach for the sky.

Into the Wild indeed.

Good tune.

Really? Of the female singers working today, Neko Case seems about the least similar one could select.
She almost sounds like Florence.
I saw her open for Bryan Ferry...
She of Cracker fame?
2->1
Screechy & irritating.
Nice shrieking voice love it Pretty good whistling too
Stumbled onto LP a while back when "Lost on You" came up in my YT feed. Really enjoying her sound.
"Somebody left the 'gator when we got lost on the way"

What a powerful tune!! A 9 from me, can't stop moving my head as if nodding

A couple years ago LP opened for Bryan Ferry at The Lincoln in DC.  Fantastic show, both did not disappoint!
Going to see her at the end of the month!

Not a bad listen, even if it's got the obligatory "millennial whoop" in abundance (wha-oh-e-oh-e-oh...), plus ukulele - the hipster accessory that's almost becoming as necessary as a fedora and suspenders.  At least she's not the standard "cookie-cutter", Barbie-doll, pop-star type and she does have a powerful voice.  Apparently she's been a prolific songwriter for a while.  Pretty cool.
The girl sure can whistle.
A lot like Florence and The Machine only more annoying.
one either loves this unique vocals or one doesn't
I appreciate her talent but her voice grates my ears...
Good tune.  I remember her from Cracker's Gentleman's Blues, the hidden track at the end.
This song gives me goosebumps each time I hear it. What a voice!
me neither. it's probably because they're both female

Saw LP live in 2014 at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, one of the truly great annual music festivals. Had never heard her music before and she blew the large crowd away. Great voice and band energy.
