Really love the guitar tone on this one.

Great driving music - except the one that speeds up towards the end, gotta watch out with that one
great - love it  -
Iยดve heard this song a LOT on RP, which is still OK, since itยดs a cool one, but recently I heard ANOTHER from Bombino, which was also really cool, and different.  How about some more Bombino variety, Billiam?
Bombino after The Bomb
Quickly recognized the roaring Saharan guitar work that Bombino treats us today. He truly rocks!

I'm really excited to see him playing live this Friday in Haarlem. Thank you for introducing me to this incredible artist, RP!

This song summons many emotions. Nationalism is not one of them.

Lyric translation anyone?
Love the segue from Kashmir to this...

Amazing track. And while colonialism explains some conflicts, the lack of colonialism explains others. Europeans have no monopoly on moral culpability.

Wherever whitey goes trouble follows .

Colonialism is not the cause of conflicts, they exist between humans regardless, pre-colonial, pre-Colombian, take your pick, there's always been war between different tribes, over resources... or for whatever reason. Using colonialism as a cause is just a justification to hate modern Western society. I'm not seeing the difference. I agree that many boundaries are purely political, look at the history of Europe! But as long as there are humans, there will be conflict and war. Get used to it. And keep politics out of RP.

You don't see the difference; As long as you're on the side of those who have the nukes. On the other side people develop a third eye.

Quite a bit of irony in your last sentence.  Where in your post do you mention the song?

These boundaries, drawned by colonialism regardless of ethicity and the lands own history. Which explains some of the many conflicts in some of these artificial countries.

Beautiful track.

I honestly cannot stand this guy's voice, but I wouldn't call it bad... its just not my thing. It would be like calling Limburger "verschrikkelijke slechte kaas". You might not like it, but that shit still sells and there are some people out there who love it.

Also that guitar work is pretty lush.

One of the best discoveries (among many) from RP for me. Love his guitar work/sound.

:-)
Have become a Bombino fan thanks to RP!
Thanks for the tip... Amazon purchase link very useful!
We saw Bombino at the Forecastle Festival in 2013 and he put on a most excellent show. If you get a chance to see him live, go for it.

And I find his voice to be pretty good, and fits the style of his music well...I guess we all have our own definition of 'terrible voice' which is good...LLRP!!

A little nod to Jimmy Page (Whole Lotta Love), โ€“listen to the last few notes of intro guitar riff.
This really grows on you the longer you listen to it. In my case it started as 2 or 4? Now I rate it 7.
8 to 9 today, I dig this stuff so much, might be why RP found me so many years ago....Long Live RP!!

Thanks AGAIN for discovering me to great "new" stuff, RP!

I so agree between RP and WFMU my musical tastes have expanded. Triple j from Australia is great too
Please play some Stones. I'm up all night working on a design  project...i have to be up to present it early on Thursday morning and i'm running out of time...just play some glimmer twins? Thanks in advance...Andy. You told me a long time ago it doesn't work that way, but than you did play them. Just one Stones song...any one would do it! Just one...

His work is so distinctive. "The Sultan of Shred" indeed!

Arrived here after just listening to The Delgres.  Made for a pleasing segue.

Heard Bombino here three nights in a row. Different songs, but still the same artist. Guess I am listening to RP too much.

It's good, but it's not 9 times a month good.
