Hey, my love
I came to you with best intentions
You laid down and gave to me
Just what I'm seeking
Love, you drive me to distraction

Hey my love do you believe
That we might last a thousand years
Or more if not for this, our flesh and blood
It ties you and me right up
Tie me down

Celebrate we will
Because life is short but sweet for certain
We're climbing two by two
To be sure these days continue
These things we cannot change

Hey, my love, you came to me
Like wine comes to this mouth
Grown tired of water all the time
You quench my heart
And you quench my mind

Celebrate we will
Because life is short but sweet for certain
We're climbing two by two
To be sure these days continue
The things we cannot

Celebrate, you and me
Climbing two by two
To be sure these days continue
These things we cannot change

Oh, my love I came to you
With best intentions
You laid down and gave to me
Just what I'm seeking

Celebrate we will
Because life is short
But sweet for certain
We're climbing two by two
To be sure these days continue
Things we cannot change...
Things we cannot change...

Don't like the vocals. Beginning instrumental stuff was good.

My personal hell will no doubt be populated by a supergroup of Natalie Merchant, Eddie Vedder and Dave Matthews. On a lighter note, a cousin in Seattle was chatting to a guy, and asked if anyone else had remarked on his likeness to DM...

that's hilarious.  i'm with you on NM and EV, for sure.
i met DM at the pittsburgh airport people mover around 1994 when people didn't really recognize him yet. he was pretty cool.
sweet song.
i don't normally enjoy "jam bands" but i do like DMB a lot now.
Ja Wahnsinn! Was ist denn heute los! Sie spielen einen 10er Song nach dem anderen! Ich wollte schon längst ins Bett, aber so wird das nix ^^
Zzzzz.

Nice, I've just had the exactly same thought on my mind. Hadn't listened to this tune for quite some time but instantly knew the song after the first few bars. Remember back in the day I tried to figure who the Artist of that tune was and I didn't actually find out until Shazam / Soundhound or others became widely available.
I used to have a cake-box string guitar just like this! No one was impressed.

Same here!
I don't about the lyrics or the melody... but I love the attitude
