I stayed awake while worlds away
to ask about you
And all at once I jumped the gun,
I didn't mean to
To count the days I used to hate
But now they're not so tough to live through
And while away,
my freckle face should surely miss you

I guess I've changed, it's not a phase,
nothing like before
You'll miss it thought
but only 'cause you're sentimental

Don't paint this gold like at the start
For it is as it is, as we are
Don't take it back, don't tell me you can't
For it is as it is, as we are

We saved a date,
it's not too late to rearrange it
We jumped the gun, you left to run,
I stayed, conflicted
And you still see how we could be
Is there something that I'm missing?
'Cause all along I kinda knew that we were fading

Don't paint this gold like at the start
For it is as it is, as we are
Don't take it back, don't tell me you can't
For it is as it is, as we are

For it is as it is, as we are

For it is as it is, as we aren't

I'm loving Matilda Mann. I like her best when she swears, then she's the fucking best. Probably says more about me than her.
Billie Eilish done right.

Too much like Eilish, who pretty much owns the waif-voice space at the moment. Remember when bands had to sound different instead of the same?

If that was set in stone, how many singers wouldn't have had a career after they'd heard Bob Dylan, most recently, Adam Granduciel?!

"Remember when bands had to sound different?"

Umm, I'm in my 50s I don't recall this mythical time. Solid 8

What a trite and uninspiring way to look at the world. So because she reminds you of another artist you can't enjoy her music? If that is the case then a lot of the formidable RP arsenal would be redundant to you.
If someone sings like Eilish and looks like Eilish, she must be then Eilish?

Yeah, I remember. But, don't like, don't listen ! Very simple to psd.

Neato.

Yeah, if I had to guess the artist based solely on the vocals I would've picked Eilish 10 out of 10 times.

Not a bad song, but the similarity in vocal style between this song and most of BE's work that I've heard is VERY so.

I like it… lets see how it holds up - sounds a bit like Billie Eilish
