You got to find your people
Ones that make you feel alright
The kind you want to stay up with all night
You got to find your people
The ones that make you feel whole
That won't leave your side when you lose control
The ones that don't let you lose your soul

You got to find your people
The ones that get the joke
Who understand what you're saying before a word is spoke
You got to find your people
That put the needle in the groove
When you're together you got nothing to prove
When you're together you got nothing to lose

In a world of strangers, you don't know who to trust
All you see is danger, trying to find what you lost
You can't go it alone, everybody needs help
You got to find your people then you'll find yourself

You got to find your people
That'll call your bluff
Who'll ride along when the road is rough

You got to find your people
The ones that make you feel equal
They pick you up and don't put you down
Help you find your way in the lost and found

In a world of strangers, you don't know who to trust
All you see is danger, trying to find what you lost
You can't go it alone, everybody needs help
You got to find your people then you'll find yourself

The ones that understand you
The ones that a lend a hand to you
The ones that don't demand, anything from you

You got to find your people
The ones that make you feel alright
That tell you the truth and wish you well
You got to find your people then you'll find yourself
You got to find your people then you'll find yourself

I really liked the song after I heard it the first and second time. For some reason, it now gets more annoying the more often I hear it... repetition issue?

Personal issue.

Well, you asked.

perhaps…

or your not ready to meditate on  this simple and sweet message?

it’s one for all ages, though some just don’t need it right now

More and more, as I age, I am drawn to music that has a positive message.  I am somewhat of an eternal optimist, I suppose.  I also like music where the singer has a nice voice, and who clearly enunciates their lyrics.  This song checks those boxes, so it will be downloaded onto my alternative music playlist.  Thanks again, RP, for expanding my musical horizons.

“clearly enunciates their lyrics…”

love it!
I second that!

Love the lyrics.
True friends…
Love it. I'm thinking Vance Joy

This is not Old Sea Brigade. It's Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, released on their album Strangers No More in June 2023.
Drew Holcomb and Ben Cramer are both based in Nashville. But they don't really sound a lot alike. Drew Holcomb is way more Americana / country; Old Sea Brigade is more delicate and less twangy.
Great song by Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, though!

This is really killing me; this song is now on heavy rotation and the
correct band is not only not getting the credit for the song but is also
not getting the royalties for it. I can't figure out how to contact anybody here at RP - anybody know.

Thanks for that!  At first I was liking the "band?" name of Old Sea Brigade - And yes, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors is what I found in youtube.

7 for now and off looking for Old Sea Brigade tunes too!

LLRP!!

I'm bummed that this is still getting repeated with the wrong band info. Drew Holcomb should be getting some credit (in addition to royalties!) and somebody at RP should be paying attention by this point. Sometimes I wonder whether RP is more computerized than they make out to be...

New artist to me, had to look it up, thought it would be Mumford & Sons.
Nice on first listening.
