My heart runs on gasoline vapors
The thousand drums waking up the neighbors
But I can feel the fissures in the freeways
The rusted steel, deception in the handshakes
In the handshakes

An arrow in the wall, arrow in the wall
Take it as a warning
That you are gonna fall, you are gonna fall
Even if you're soaring
Take it as a warning

This machine was built to be broken
The strip mall teens were sniffing and swollen
And I could not run fast enough to flee them
There's more than one way to get your freedom
To get your freedom

An arrow in the wall, arrow in the wall
Take it as a warning
That you are gonna fall, you are gonna fall
Even if you're soaring
An arrow in the wall, arrow in the wall
Take it as a warning
That you are gonna fall, you are gonna fall
Even if you're soaring
Take it as a warning
Take it as a warning
Take it as a warning
Take it as a warning

An arrow in the wall, arrow in the wall
Take it as a warning
That you are gonna fall, you are gonna fall
Even if you're soaring
An arrow in the wall, arrow in the wall
Take it as a warning
That you are gonna fall, you are gonna fall
Even if you're soaring
Take it as a warning
Take it as a warning
Take it as a warning
Take it as a warning

I have a soft spot for DCFC, but have heard this same track everyday I listen on here. No other new releases by these guys? Not enough music in the RP library? I'd think one could go WEEKS listening to RP and not hear a tune repeated - No?

Sadly, clearly not the case. RP being what it is, especially the eclectic aspect, one would think that RP's "library" would have a far larger playlist! Dunno...I guess, royalties, permissions, artists "demands", etc, prevent RP from elaborating into other tracks off a particular artists album!

Mr. William, are you getting the hint, here?!? DCFC are great and, as mentioned above, they DO have much else to offer! Please?!?

Love the clarity of vocals, and such a recognisable voice to boot. Really like this track, allows room for the imagination to create a cool scene, open to imagery and interpretation, also a great steady beat to ride to.

Reminds me a bit of Kate Bush ...

I was with you 100%....until you had to mention the highly overrated female! If I never heard anything more from her, it wouldn't be too soon. No matter what the seemingly infatuated Mr. William plays of hers, immediate PSD! Although well aware of her accolades, I think that may have given her the "big head syndrome"!

We all see arrows in the wall everywhere, but it takes a truly observant songwriter to notice them and craft a song like this. I will take them as a warning!
I generally love their music, but the repetitive nature of a particular lyric really ruins the song for me... I like a good vamp as much as the next guy, but come on guys...

Gotta love the bass on this track.

disagree. it sounds like a warped record, there's some unrelated (to the music) very low warbling noise.  those listening on earpods or whatever will never hear it (30-40hz I'd guess)
You know, it would be ok to play Soul meets Body.

If you have a good sound system with a subwoofer you can hear / feel (Almost) subsonic rumblings in the background of this.

Yeah, or a nice pair of headphones with DAC. I swear I thought someone was doing some heavy construction work outside :D
Overplayed just like radio stations with new songs they promote
fwiw, I used to dig Death Cab.  Unusual sound and arrangements, but it seems to me they've gotten kind of repetitive.

I do and yes the rumblings are happening for myself and my neighbors. Almost a subsonic "pad" comes in and out at frequencies below the kick drum. I didn't think it was legal to listen to RP on anything but quality gear....
+1 for cool band name
Not a bad song, but I heard it less than 24 hours ago...  What happened to the "number of plays" counter?

Right?!  It kinda freaked me out.  I had to take off the headphones because I thought the walls were shaking.

If only Death Cab for Cutie, Wilco, Flaming Lips, Yo La Tengo... had a lead singer whose voice had the colors, personality, groove and depth of their music they could have reached out to a wider audience.
I also think that fans of said bands don't give a damn and enjoy them regardless

Yawn. Maybe catchy but in a boring way. Next!

So boring! Death Cab used to be interesting. Now they are just repetitive.
...and now back to the music?! ;) I really like the track on first listen. A great groove, and look forward to a few more passes.
