You better get up for your mama
You better grab the best of your life
I know you’re ready
To get older
Anyhow

Well all you have to do is wander
Over fields of dark time
Where do you find yourself
Feeling lonesome
Do you reckon your body and your mind

Day on earth by the streets at night
Oh yeah
I saw you passing
There in the street lights
Do you have
A home for the morning
And are you holding
Holding on so tight

You say that’s what you have been given
A whole lot of nothing for your time
And have you sunken
Down in your bones

Do you toss and turn and turn at night
And are you holding, holding on so tight
Do you toss and turn and turn at night
And are you holding, holding on so tight

Completely off topic, but years ago my wife and I attended a public school (kindergarten to grade 8?) musical production of the Wizard of Oz. It was a lot of fun and the young girl that played Dorothy was spectacular. The music was provided by a few of the teachers playing keyboards, bass and electric guitar. This scene, running through the poppies, was set to a version of Purple Haze. The kids didn’t seem to understand why all the adults in the audience were killing themselves laughing.
7 just for the baritone sax.
Sounds like an Al Green song.
Weirdly I am made very uncomfortable by  Frazey’s voice. But I really like this song and I can sorta dance through the discomfort.
I too love Frazey's voice, it's unique.

Came running in from the other room to make sure i could rate this and 8 in the hopes of hearing it on RP again sometime in the next three or four months.

I actually stood up and walked to my computer to see who this was. I can give no higher compliment to a first listen!
Love her sound and story.
Starts out at an 8 to my ears...

Ah, William just back-announced: the Be Good Tanyas! Now I recognize the sound!
A little on the Mazzy Star side. I like.
Digging the Hammond work.
