I try to base my song ratings totally on how much I appreciate the music.   BUT when I hear Bill speaking to the difficulty the artist probably faced due to her country of origin, I can't help but to bump my rating up at least 1 or 2.  Maybe I'm getting soft in the head as I age, but I feel that my heart is also softening because more music touches me there than it did in my youth.
