Interesting comments on "aging well". I just watched The Last Waltz this past week. Does it look 40 years old? Why yes it does. Do some of the interviews have a few cringe worthy moments? I would probably say yes to that too.
Of course that is 60 year old me looking at it now with a whole different perspective. I remember when the movie first came out and I saw it at the campus theater. I immediately called my friends who had just graduated the year before and told them "come down to College Park, you've got to see this movie!"
The music still evokes fond memories and stands on it's own quite well in my opinion.

Much of The Band's music hasn't aged well. Like the Dead's music, maybe it just wasn't recorded well in the first place.

Scorcese's Last Waltz accentuates the depth of their work, imo

I also watched it somehat recently and enjoyed the hell out of it. It was nice to see Muddy Waters get a little spotlight showcase. I don't really remember him as a live performer, as he died 35 years ago.
The Band should have been bigger...their music was (is) timeless.
