Close your eyes, close the door
You don't have to worry anymore
I'll be your baby tonight

Shut the light, shut the shade
You don't have to be afraid
I'll be your baby tonight

Well, that mockingbird's gonna sail away
We're gonna forget it
That big fat moon is gonna shine like a spoon
But we're gonna let it, you won't regret it

Kick your shoes off, do not fear
Bring that bottle over here
I'll be your baby tonight

The harmonica over the intro ... I mean, come on.  I guess some of the notes very occasionally matched the chords, but not many, and I bet more by accident than design.  Oddly, I don't have such a problem with the singing which bears only a slight relation to the key signature.  And, of course, it's Dylan.
This album doesn't get enough respect.
Just a fine song...Bob
Bob rhymes “moon” and “spoon”. Hold the front page…

Honestly- he has always had voice problems. But no matter since he has had so much to say. Never bowled over by this version but have loved many other versions of it.

He was 26 years young. A long time ago.
So Bob. So good
Even cut off early, it was too long.

In my day, I could sing better than that.  And didn't.
Whew! Bill cut the cheese*.................................................. and went to Beck.
Thank you.

*aka early fade-out.
OK, just saw the post a few down. All is explained.

Everybody in my church loves this song...

Bob Dylan's latest album is called Tempest...  for more information about his latest album, look here...

flat flat flat flat most of the time. Ugh...Bob...don't hold any notes. They're too heavy for you! Stick with poetry...

Agreed.  It's cut off much too soon.

Perhaps. But by the producer of the album - not by me.  It's only 2:34 long.

Bill, I'm not sure I've ever heard you cut off a song so early... and I'm definitely sure I didn't appreciate it being done to King Bob!

Too much Bob Dylan on RP...
Interesting to read all the complaints, whining and moaning of Adele's cover of a Dylan song, yet it rated higher than this. Hmmmm....deep thoughts.......

IIf only he didn't sing as well

He always had the "VOICE PROBLEM"! ....terrible
Yet another Bob Dylan song that shows why he should only sing Hurricane and let every other song of his be sung by someone else.
His voice is drab and often out of tune. He wouldn't make it past the first auditions in any modern singing competition (call it what you like)

YUK YUK YUK!

"I'll Be Your Baby Tonight" is a 1967 song by Bob Dylan first released on John Wesley Harding. It has been covered by many artists over the years, most notably by Robert Palmer and UB40 in 1990.

no sustained vibrato, instead a quavering off key whine
in my continuing attempt to appreciate Dylan's voice talents
a friend passed on a tip from a fellow avid Dylan fan
'try to appreciate the implied melody'

One of my favorite Dylan albums and one of the best cuts from the album.
