I was about to make a comment about who is downvoting this but I'm like "must be more like Cynaera, just enjoy and let it go".
10 seconds in and I love this!!
Fabulous!  So much joy in this.

Agreed.  This is one of the more criminal ratings on RP.
I always remember hearing him first on Peter Gabriel's live album Secret World Live.

His voice was always so unique!
Great tune! ...Whenever I hear vocals in a language that I do not speak or understand, I consider them to be a musical instrument.  In this case, a percussive instrument!

this is the stuff that makes RP great.

And whose fault is that?  It's not repetitive, it's a groove.  Embrace it...
I know.

Hang in there, 'Black Betty' is next. {#Dancingbanana_2}

I hate the skipping record bit at the end.

But I kinda like it, too.

this song takes me right back there!
Very sad to hear Papa Wemba collapsed on stage in Ivory Coast and died last night. Always enjoyed his music, thanks to RP.
At first, this song sucked.

Then, it completely shifted gears towards the end, with no segue at all, and somehow managed to suck even more for the last 30 seconds.

Av rating 5.8 ?!?!!

oh man, is this song funky or what.
the next tune will be aboriginal.
Such a great groove.
So many positive comments, and so few negative...I'm surprised the overall rating is so low (5.7). Personally, it's a 7 for me. Quite likeable.
very cool, I see PW's been around a while, so another cool new find for me on RP, nicey nice that or I'm always horribly behind the times
I can't stop chair dancing!

We don't want any SPAM!
You can either go Paul Simon or Tito Puente at this point.
Great energy! Gotta get up off the chair and move! Great guitar work, sweet groove, fantastic vocals! Thanks Bill and Rebecca for turning me on to this! www.myspace.com/treehouseonline

Absolutely awesomely beautiful female back up singers on this and many Papa Wemba tunes.
For some reason, I picture Peter Griffin dancing around his house wearing a hat made of fruit & singing...

Another ridiculous comparison - why use one great song to put down another? Paul Simon and Beck have both gone looking outside of North America/Europe for their influences - does that make them posers? I suppose in rmurray and xkolibuul's ideal world, white boys are only allowed to make white-boy music.
Great big grin!

Nice, until the last few bars when they drove the groove to a halt.

Just heard this on the LRC. Why is this on the LRC when it's apparently been in the RP collection sinds at least Fri Nov 30, 2001 ?? Very nice song though. Keep playing this!

Great and fun sounds. Some people around here have small windows of enjoyment. Lighten up - there\'s more to music than you (or I) know! - Riff
This makes me turn off my real player.

If i didn\'t know this was mp3 format, I\'d have thought the damn CD was skipping at the end. Feh!
grates on me worse than any other song that I have ever heard. make the hurting stop!!! :p
Excellent - puts the previous tune (Paul Simon\'s Proof) in its place.
