What we talk about,
When we talk about love

Talk about a shot from the hip
And the sky above
Talk about the glow on the lip
What the moon's made of
Talk about things you can't see
When you talk about me...
Do you talk about love?

What we talk about,
When we talk about love

Gimme something i can touch
Not a mystery
Gimme something i can feel
Not a fantasy
Gimme something real, baby
When you talk about love...
Do you talk about me?
(Choir) Get off that slumber
Come on down get of that train
A bend is easy to take

There's a road up ahead
And it's not that far
There's a road up ahead
And it ain't that far
Down the road you just don't know
What it is you'll find
Down the road, it's a fact babe,
You might as well be blind
It's an odyssey so please,

When you reach that road...
Don't leave me behind

(Choir) Get off...

Deep as the ocean
Wide as the sea
I'm talking about low visibility...
High as mountain
And harder to climb

It is in what you seek
Not in what you find

When you say things soft
You know they ring so true
When you say things loud
They don't sound like you

Like it when you shake that thing
With the finest touch
Like it when you talk so little
And say so much
City girls they like to get rough
But when you talk about love...
They don't hold no grudge.

(Choir) Get off...

BIRDMAN!!!!
Anyone hear Collective Soul influence there?
When it started out I was thinking Lady GaGa?
The Ideal Crash is their most accessible album. Try writing such cool lyrics in a second language.
thanks for playing
There is always good music from deus..should be., They called themselves the God!

put yer boobs back on
They do have this hip-Cale kind of sound with an element of mecho in the vocal line.  Interesting sound, in spite of the detractors below who clearly don't know their pop-rock history.
If they had branded the "no purpose music" they would be rich by now, assuming they sold some records.
Well, according to John, that is the only thing Deus talks about ... LOVE {#Sunny}

"BASS"

good song opening!

Good call!
Smooth and steady.  Like this a bunch.

(By the way, Miles Davis is good whether you like him or not.)

Sorry, but beg to strengthen that statement a bit.  Saying "Ray Carver is good if you like that sort of thing" is exactly equivalent to saying "Miles Davis is good if you like that sort of thing."  Carver is pretty widely (one hesitates, out of principal, to claim "universally") considered to be one of the absolute masters of the modern short story.  What We Talk About When We Talk About Love is a very good collection, though I think I like Will You Please Be Quiet, Please better.

Just to nitpick, it's dEUS, not Deus.

Not my favourite dEUS tune but still ok.

If you like this get the "Vantage Point" album rather than this one,  "The Architect" is the best song they ever did.
srysly, didn't like it, but had a long history with R. Carver books and Deus songs at the same time.
Strange to see them mixed-up in a song, therefore quite a strange feeling ...

I didn't remember that I was listening to RP and thought this was going to be Konichiwa Bitches. I guess it's just me. {#Cool}

This is one of the most awesome songs I have ever heard. I've downloaded it and have played it repeatedly on Sunday and today in the car on the way home from work tonight... and again when I had to run out to a client's. My wife wanted to know what song I sat in the garage to finish listening to when I got home; she could feel the bass through the floor. Love that funky, groovin' beat that sounds like it's out of the '70s. And the lead singer has the sexiest, purring growl of a voice since Michael Hutchence. I checked out some of dEUS' other tracks on iTunes and I'm afraid this has ruined me for everything else they've done... nothing else compares. Shame on RP for making this the first dEUS song I heard!
Check out "hotel lounge", "suds'n'soda", "Little Artihmetics", "serpentine", "theme from turnpike"... Their first album, worst case scenario isn't bad at all. When it came out in Belgium, I was a student in Ghent, remembers me of some real good times!
Im picking up Kubb here, anyone else hear that? Or am I tuned to the wrong station? >_>

Is Isaac Hayes making a cameo in the chorus?
The lead singer - Tom Barman - is a huge fan of JJ Cale. I think you can really hear that in this Song. edit: ah, i see now that other people have noticed it as well
Catchy!
Fun tune. The title is from a collection of short stories by Raymond Carver.
What tedious music! Nice cover art though.
Bill just played this for me by request for my birthday. Thanks, Bill!
Great band from Belgium. They make excellent CD's!
