here here! What Karl Hyde is doing is not rapping, ok it has an influence from that but it is more like a sort of automatic writing. It is a response to his immediate surroundings in Essex where the duo have their studios. This is a sort of musical/vocal end result that is similar to the typographic/visual work released by underworld and the Tomato art group in the early nineties with works like "Mmm...Skyscraper i love you" .. this is not rapping, bad or good... its not really meant to be anything i dont think except a constant stream of thoughts and images..
and in that i think it was very successful. I just wish RP had more of the Underworld back catalogue which includes far more than just the two albums shown here.

in fact, it got instant-added. i was quite suprised myself too. i uploaded another one too from the same album (Boy, Boy, Boy) and would've thought if any got added it would be that one. It's doing great on the LRC (100% thumbs up). Maybe it will be more to your liking....

So that explains my indifference to this track. Re the Moby comments: What I hear in this track are some interesting ideas that never really gel and are hobbled by the faux-distorted sound. But there are the germs of some good ideas in there, even if the end result is rather unpleasant. In other words, the sort of sound that inspires others to improve on it and carry it to widespread commercial success; hence we get Moby.
First listen and liking the groove and hearing a little rapping on RP. Unfortunately it seems that there's a frequent knee-jerk reaction against anything too "urban", i.e. rap. I never liked much of the content of popular rap but the musical form is just as valid as anything else.

Although saying Underworld is trying to be like Moby is akin to saying Ferrari takes design cues from the Yugo.
Well put!

Agreed. Although saying Underworld is trying to be like Moby is akin to saying Ferrari takes design cues from the Yugo.
Hell Yeah!
I like this quite a bit. It has a certain Beck-ish quality to it. Play more often!
I really don't know what to make of this. Intriguing, for the moment. Maybe another listen will help.
This is sapping my will to live.
does this pave the way to more rap and hiphop on RP ? I hope not.
can't believe this made it past the LRC
Let's all try to be Moby but fail miserably.
One of the greatest groups of all time...but this one's just not doing it for me. That's just horrible rapping.
