The magnificent film from which this music comes - enjoy!

Wow.  Thanks for the rec, macadavy.  I'll have to check it out. (Um - does it have a sad ending?  I can't watch movies with sad endings anymore - they bring me down and haunt me...)

This is pretty cool.  Haven't caught this one before.
interesting, well crafted

Someone was really lazy when naming this song.
It's OK, but I prefer the caveman vocals in Tubular Bells.
...this is cool - but the production is hackneyed enough that i think it's best in moderation...

Reminds me of Adiemus, but with drums.. and guys...

Does anyone else feel like saying something smarmy and pretentious when they see this?!?

I thought the music was smarmy and pretentious, actually, at least when played alone like this. The movie was jaw dropping, and I love birds, but this is just boring.

Thanks for that link, Rachoh!  Does anyone else feel like saying something smarmy and pretentious when they see this?!?  That trailer for "Winged Migration" is better than the movie, and the movie is outstanding.  Especially the outrageous backstory of how they got the birds to do that, on the DVD extras.  (Hint: imprinting.)

I ripped this track from the soundtrack CD, which is why the birdie whooshing sound effect is missing from the beginning.  It was performed by the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra, composed by Bruno Coulais, so I guess some of the lyrics are Bulgarian.  I prefer to imagine they're speaking straight bird.  Agreed snakechaser, it sure captures for me the spirit of the planet's ultimate migrants.  I mean, they must think they're pretty cool, right?  (The birds that is.  The Bulgarians too for that matter, but mainly the birds.)

P.S. Woot!  My second song to get through the LRC, this one also mysteriously (happily) bypassing the voting gauntlet.  It's just that good.  A balm for all the ones that crashed in low-vote flames.

Great sounds from a great movie !
I see birds flying in my head. If you've seen the movie, you can't help but think of birds when you hear the music. Likewise, now when I hear geese (even the dreaded Canada geese that are a pest here in the South), I can't help but think fondly about all the geese migration flights shown in the film. Amazing footage and well worth a watch!
Sounds like the intro to a video game..neat.

..or the intro to a really great doc: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pc_qpk2d-ao
