Sounds like the rejected child of Death Cab and Savage Garden.

Sounds really good .. for selling stuff to tweens.

Had to laugh...haven't thought about Savage Garden in a while!

Seriously though, Owl City doesn't belong here on RP.

I absolutely agree.  This tune needs a Big Bottom and an eight inch cucumber wrapped in tin foil.

That makes EVERYTHING better

Regardless of all the negative comments, this is my latest favoritest songs. The video makes it better, but it's good on it's own. Several people who know me say the guy who wrote this reminds them of me. Hmm. I suppose the people who hate this don't care much for pop. This is definitely pop.

Thinnest music I've ever heard. All treble and high end digitized twinkle, no bottom; like video game music. My 16 year old niece is heavily into this Owl City stuff, though. She went to a concert of theirs last month and said there were mosh pits.

Mosh pits.

To *this* stuff?

I mean, I'm not going to say I hate it... there isn't enough there to hate, really.

this is in the same vein as Postal Service, which makes it pretty poppy but refreshing; whatever happened to Postal Service anyway? one album was not enough; better than Death Cab in any case

haha... yeah, I've seen some of those recently.
Perhaps if people make fun of it enough, it will finally go away.
Cher brought it to the masses way back when... it was catchy and slightly cool...
But it should have ended right there.

Most things can be interesting the first few times... but after the millionth time... not so much.

my first '1' rating...at least we're all in this together.
Cute, catchy, the best DCFC imitation I've ever heard.

I don't care what the rest of you think.  I like it.

yuck
Autotuned vocals, fluffy electronica synths, and the thinnest drum beats imaginable?!?  This is terrible!  {#Hand}
post-edit: all you folks comparing this to Gibbard's work must be hearing something entirely different than what I do when I listen to DCFC or the Postal Service.  To me that's like comparing chopped steak to prime rib.

I thought this was Ben Gibbard when I first heard it.  Owl City wiki article indicates I'm not the first person to have gotten that wrong.

And AMG cites their (his) only influence as Postal Service.  So we could be critics.

The Buggles with even less testosterone, if such a thing is possible.
ughhhhhh...........................................

Are my kids watching Disney Channel in the other room?

first band my 14 year old has been into before me, hmmm
I don't like to complain but....ewww.

Is this another Ben Gibbard joint?  Sure sounds Postal Servicey to me.

I was delighted that I'd recognized a Postal Service song... and it's not.

One death cab for cutie is one too many.  We don't need another.  2

added:  Oh man, this is even worse now that the auto-tune took over.  Throw-away top 40 pap.

He's got a stupid boy band voice...X Factor reject?
