I'm struggling to believe that these idealistic and submissive lyrics came out of the mouth of a woman who has a reputation for being independent and angry. I'll admit that I don't know that much about Ms. O'Connor, but I find this really surprising. Am I missing something?

It's a different style than I'm used to, but I like it.
She tore up a picture of the Pope after he decreed that women should continue to have unprotected sex with their husbands even if their husband has been diagnosed with the the HIV virus.
I agree with her and I have always liked her music.
