Check your version.
3.0.7  and 3.0.8  don't work reliably.

The 3.0.9  nightly  works  or you can go back to 3.0.6

Anyway, I can't get the FLAC stream to load in VLC. Being the free service that this is, I'm not complaining since the other streams are fine, and browsers have no trouble with FLAC. Any ideas? VLC is supposed to support FLAC with no add-ons.

Working fine here.  No drop outs; seems to be keeping pace with the AAC stream.

I was using the "old link"  http://audio-3.radioparadise.c....

The new link you just provided gives me that:

The following error(s) occurred during loading of the location(s):
Internal Server Error (500)

Unrelated stream relay server issue this morning. Should be fine now.

The old link is indeed dead.

Damn!  It just fell over ... before it did, the stream went choppy and had the slow speed issue for about 30 secs.

Well...here is an audiophile and RP lover. I am struggling with the fact that I can't have all my favorite stations in *one* playback format. I am a bit nuts and I use a variety of different playback methods, depending on my mood, location and subsequent availability of devices. Let's start:

Home
1) RPI3b+/Digi One transport/DAC/Audio System - using LMS with RP plugin = PERFECT FLAC performance
2) USB DAC/Audio System - using W10/Foobar2000 = NO FLAC. Limited to 320k MP3 <sad face> because, in Foobar2000 I upsample to DSD128 which typically results in much better sound quality.
3) USB DAC/Audio System - using Win10/Chrome browser = FLAC is OK, but is limited to the Win10 audio, cannot upsample or do other conversion tricks.

Mobile:
1) LG V30 (w/ built-in ES9218P DAC) - using RP Android app = OK FLAC performance. But....the audio performance is not as good as a dedicated DAC.

Bedroom:
1) Mac laptop (no FLAC natively) - using Chrome = OK FLAC performance, but limited to OS X Coreaudio. This is really an Apple limitation.

Really, the only thing is missing (and HIGHLY desirable) is a Radio Paradise FLAC URL, so I can add RP FLAC to all my other hi-res/FLAC station inventory in Foobar2000....and Roon for those folks.

Hi all, I am using a Bluesound Vault 2i and a pair of 2i Reflex players. I listen to RP a lot during the day, swapping from one Mix to another. I have noticed that around 17:00 UK time that all the stations begin to buffer and stutter. Is there anything I can or do or set to stop this happening? Any advice will be welcomed.

Hi Bill!  Missing the flac stream already!  Thanks for all the effort to try and get the tech behind the stream all sorted for us (relative few) audiophiles who really appreciate its superb quality. Gone back to the 192_ogg stream - still sounds great though!
What chances we'll be getting track info meta via the stream one day? Is that in the plan?

It'll be back tomorrow. Metadata in the flac stream looks like a no-go, unfortunately.

RP streams.  Which one minimizes CPU activity?

For a long time, I have been streaming RP at the PC-workstation using the 320 kbps AAC feed through foobar2000 v.1.3.1.   Works great and the quality is overkill for what I am doing as the music normally plays in the background.   (OK, I do crank it up every now and then.

Now RP offers several mp3 streams and a FLAC stream through the website.  (We use the FLAC stream on the HTPC system along with the out of sight, superb slide show.)

Could or rather should I simply use the ultra mp3  or the FLAC stream through the web browser?   Which method minimizes CPU load?

P.S.  This is indeed a First World problem.  With the plethora of first rate choices RP provides based on voluntary contributions,  we are spoiled rotten.

As a rule, the lower the bitrate, the less CPU.  But in most cases none of the streams use enough CPU to impact other uses.
