I'm laughing now.  Trump ain't going nowhere.

Reflecting on the body of the above article, Trump holds all the cards.  Let's pretend that Trump has enough cash to buy a law firm and employ it full time filing law suits against malicious tweeters and bloggers.  Someone spouting unsubstantiated bs about him and all he has to do is make a call and say sue the bastid and yippy-skippy.  He can shut down almost all of it, unlike anyone else can.  We all know that you can sue anyone for anything, so nothing is stopping him.

I believe that it would stop the usual reckless behaviour of just plain making things up to put a candidate on the defensive and spend time defending themselves instead of speaking about the things they want to talk about.  The bloggers and what not will have to take time and spend money to defend themselves, instead of counting on the fact that no candidate to date has the resources required to take on these propagandists.  Its easy to sit and spew when you know there are no real consequences, but when you have to put your money where your mouth is, well I think that this is a game changer.

I think that this would be pretty cool, not that it would ever happen, cuz Trump is only a clown posing as a candidate, he wouldn't be smart enough to do what I mentioned above.  And no I didn't read this anywhere, its just my imagination that arrived at this scenario.

Strangest Hot Take of the Day: Why Evangelicals Like Trump

(...) In the service of explaining what there is of an evangelical attraction to Trump (and, as I wrote earlier this week, it is there, although by no means a majority), Brody portrays Trump as a no-holds-barred honest broker and, therefore, victim of the media. That’s why, he says, evangelicals can relate.

“Donald Trump operates in a world of absolutes,” Brody writes. “A world of right and wrong; a world of winners (him) and losers (McCain, Perry, etc); a world of put up or shut up (literally).”

“And what does Trump get for speaking out so boldly without holding back?” Brody asks. “Public ridicule.” (...)

Yeah, pretty much right.

I just gotta take exception to the author's take that Trump and his supporters are anti immigrant.  No, there is a separate distinction about being against illegal immigration.  It does not mean that they are anti immigrant.  This is pure BS to keep this crap going.  Nearly all who are against illegal immigration have no problem with legal immigration, except when the work visas displace American workers.

Republicans need to think about who backs Trump at the moment.  It’s a big chunk of the GOP base, at least the anti-immigrant wing.  If Republicans lose these folks next year in the general election, they’re doomed.

.
If anyone can break through this damaging, dishonest narrative about the truth of illegal immigration Trump will.  First step is making it clear that it is real and real people are dying as a direct result.  Liberals are in total denial that there is such a thing as illegal immigration.  The more they deny it, the more they will fire up deeper and lasting support for Trump

.
Oh, and loved the Steyn piece

I don't understand how he can be so ahead in the polls. What do people see in him?

Let's start with the obvious.  He is his own man.  If he wins he will not be beholden to campaign donors like all the rest of the candidates, on all of the sides.  That is big all by itself.  His hands would be tied only by the system,  not by donors and lobbyists who force all the other candidates to compromise themselves before they get started.  He would not be a bait and switch POTUS.

Secondly, he is the only one speaking forcefully about illegal immigration.  He is the only one still willing to call illegal immigration what it is.  Illegal immigration is the second biggest single issue that will attract voters.  The biggest is abortion.  I would guess that roughly 75% of voters will not look at a candidate that does not support their own views on abortion / women's rights.  I would guess that illegal immigration has a group about the size of 20% of all voters, that believe that if the sovereignty and borders of our country are not secured, nothing else matters.  I would be one of those.  That is my single issue that will get my vote.  Laws begin and end at our borders.  Without any sovereign security, our laws are transient or meaningless.  This resonates loudly with a voter block whose size is seriously underestimated.

Thirdly, he has real world international business experience.  To develop real estate requires the most deftest of hands to deal with all the intricacies and nuances of local, state and national regulations and politics.  US law requires that citizens must adhere to US standards and business practices internationally.  This prevents among other things, bribery, even if it is the local accepted way of doing business.  With all of his dealings, he has never been brought up on any charges of violating US laws regarding his international business enterprises.

If elected, he will fire incompetent people (read bureaucrats) who stand in the way of getting things done properly and efficiently.  He can take on the system unlike any others.

I believe, unlike most all others, that Trump is serious about running for POTUS.  He has sacrificed his brand, this does not enhance it.  He has already lost many product placements as a result of his candidacy and positions.  He is going to sell just as many books as before if he wishes to write another.

Trump will be on the stage for the first debate.  We'll have to wait and see how he does.
