Do you generalize much or have you conducted clinical trials?  I have had this album for years and am long-familiar with this genre and the genres and which inspired it.   Why all the hate, Cowboy?

I couldn't have said it better myself
eclectic, for sure... but this luser melody doesn't _rock_ a milligram of sand
Is Peter Sellers in this movie? Boring!
Following Bono with Mono. Maybe that's redundant. Love and peace or else live in mono. Still decent.
Great! Now I have to go and rummage through my old Cd's to find this and play the whole disk.

Ha ha ha ha! That tounge in cheek European humor always cracks me up.
also on the great expectations soundtrack - there are several good songs on that album

yeah, but I bet she looked wonderful...
*bump* I don't know why, but this still makes me chuckle

Goldfrapp seriously watered down, to be kind to it ....
Claudine Longet redux. pfft...
Cooper
I can see why some might dislike it, but I personally really like it. in fact, really like it. :chillpill.gif:
Is that "Mono" as in mononucleosis? It's defenitely not as infectiuos though probably more fatal.
I see someone actually said "This song rocks." That would require an entirely new definition to the term "rocks," unless they're the ones in your head. If this were a perfume ad -- which is what it sounds like -- I would avoid the fragrance like the plague. In fact, I would rather try a fragrance called "The Plague." What is this fascination for breathy French females who can't sing a lick? Go rent an old Bardot video and stop making us all into Spyder Savitch wannabes!

Okay...the tinkly little chimes and breathy do do do do do do do is really getting on my nerves. When is this song going to be over?
Totally agree, Christine! If only all the breathy vocalists' CDs, LPs, and cassettes would autoexplode.

Oh, please. Who do they think they're fooling? This is clearly in stereo! Or maybe the poor girl has mono. That's why we can hardly hear her.
lolol

Will someone warm up the electron microscope, please? If we just search hard enough, we'll find a voice in there, somewhere...
One of my favorite songs of the 90s.

reminds me of Les Parapluies du Cherbourg (speaking of French movies of the 60's)

THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS WHOLE CD!! Thanks for playing it.

Anyone remember Claudine "Bullseye" Longet?
Sorry, but the chord progression dominates. A cycle of fifths is a cycle of fifths. Next time you hear this chorus try to sing "I Will Survive " along with it. That might make it a bit more exciting.....
This was soft and sweet... I can see how many people found it annoying, but I thought it was pretty peaceful and calming. :meditate.gif:

Thanks, BC. I thought it sounded like a soundtrack - a rather awful one at that!

agreed.
Sorry, but I have an immediate bias against any band that includes the band name within their songs. Mostly because past offenders include Roxette, Body Count, and New Kids on the Block. Do do do do do do don't.
She sings like she has Mono...
great song! This is from great expectations soundtrack..an overall mediocre soundtrack. But this song rocks!!
boah! I like this song very much! I think it was a film-music ... "great expectations" with gwyneth patrow ... I didnot see the film, but the trailer had this song...
i remember this song from a scene in la femme nikita when michael is sleeping with some chick who was the wife of an enemy of his/section 1's. it's a cheesy song, i think. heh. not quite suck-o-barf-o, but getting there.

Both of my speakers appear to enjoy this.

I like this. Does anyone know if it\'s in a movie or something? Sounds familiar. (I don\'t think it\'s because of Twin Peaks though similar)
Okay...the tinkly little chimes and breathy do do do do do do do is really getting on my nerves. When is this song going to be over?

Nope. Vocalist is Siobhan de Maré. (according to AMG.) Vocalists with Hooverphonic have been Liesje Sadonius and Geike Arnaert. (also from AMG.) Geike was only 18 years old when Hooverphonic released Blue Wonder Power Milk. Amazing! Why am I telling you this? You're listening to Mono, for God's sake!

This is a nice light piece when heard rarely - but if it were to make it in to heavy rotation, I think I\'d grow to hate it quickly. :(
First Comment! Excellent! I haven\'t heard this song in forever, it\'s wonderfully airy, a good addition to RP!
