There's no more wishes in the well
No more dreams to sell
No time in the hourglass
There's no more lies for you to tell
Your heaven is your hell
You future dying in the past

Evergreen
Ever, ever, evergreen
Evergreen
Ah, ah, ah
Ah, ah, ah

I know I'm never going to learn
Fingers fit to burn
You can't let the fire die
Keep the flame of your desire
Always rising higher
Aim for the stars and hit the sky

I love Echo. Their early stuff I really didn't care for. But their self titled LP from 1987 with songs like Lip's like Sugar and Bedbugs and Ballyhoo got me as a big fan. I have all their later stuff. And Ian put out some great solo albums back in the late 80's and early 90's.  A very consistent group of Liverpool musicians.
Not the Bunnies without Ian

they really do. reminiscent a bit of screaming trees but with a different vocalist. i think this suits them just fine.
I thought this was an obscure Morphine hit from the 1990s... but the lead singer is just a little high pitched.
Echo soundin like Screamin Trees here
Loved it then and love it now!
here they dive into Grunge. it does not suit them. the Bunnymen soar above all that
Reminds me of Echo And The Bunnymen.

How many melodies did you want it to be?

That introduction made me think of an Emancipator song whose name escapes.

Instant 9 - that's fabulous!
Aim for stars and hit the sky.
Just love that line.
Really miss Pete de Freitas....he was key to their power.  {#Drummer}

Everybody in my mushrooming multitude of homeless camps loves this song...  we be dancing buck ass naked across the forests and fields and mountains and beaches from sea to shining sea...  love sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll...

hope you are having a marvelously medicated time right this minute, vandal...  time flies when we're having fun..

And they're on tour... finally! Been waiting 20+ years :)
not a masterpiece but not bad.

This has a definitive "Smiths" sound to it. I really like it. Excellent...always like the Bunnymen...along with Echo.
loved it!    E & Bm sometimes provide a super sound man, like much!
In the Year 2525...

Love The Bunnymen, unfortunately, this is far from their best stuff.  Would be great to hear some stuff from any of their early albums - Crocodiles, Porcupine, or their opus - Heaven Up Here!!!

(Must wash this image from my mind...no, scrub)

Romeotuma, if you were a woman this comment would have worked for me...

Dang.  I didn't know they were still around by 97.  Pretty cool.

You must dance a LOT!
Saw E&TBM back in 82 or 3, I think - in Southend, Essex - great gig
I feel bad for the lead vocalist, it must have been really tough to remember all those complex lyrics. ;)

This isn't one of your finer picks Bill.
Excellent song. Reminds me of 'Electrafiction'.
Always good to hear them!
More like this on RP please!

Nice little run here, in my opinion - Breaks Co-op, Julie Miller, and the Bunnymen.

Agreed.  I don't generally like Echo and the Bunnymen, but I like this one.

Still a 10.
that be good with some rockebilly in it

Evergreen = ever good.
Great band and its too bad they never got more appreciated, they deserve it. We got U2 instead. . If you like this check out the "Heaven up here" Cd/Vinyl.

Weren't they originally an 80s band? I can't remember liking their earlier stuff, but I do like their new stuff.
Great stuff. Never heard this. Pretty rocking!
Love this.
Excellent song, excellent CD!
Love this! Thanks for playing it!
Used to be one of my two favorite bands back in the day (along with The Church).
Crooning Ian and Mr. Sargent with the band on his back as usual....

yup...I'd prefer anything off of Crocodiles, Heaven up Here or Porcupine over this, but this ain't bad.

It is growing on me a little. Went from a 3 to a 5.

Not really as good as classic Bunnymen. I like the trippy-Hendrix-like guitar, but the lyrics are flat. Maybe this will grow on me, but so far it is just blah.
Not quite classic Bunnymen...but very Screaming Trees, so I won't complain. I will always remember the grown men who performed with stuffed bunnies sat atop their giant Marshalls and Voxs....
Newer Bunnymen is not as good as older Bunnymen. But I still like it! :D

Bill, you blow me away with the horizon of music you play. I just gets bigger and bigger... Keep this up, and I might have to nominate you for sainthood.
I second that and raise you!
War, children, it's just a shot away, it's just a shot away Likeable tune...I'm thinking I now know where Ian Brown and the Stone Roses got some inspiration. (hell, Liverpool...Manchester...not so far-fetched)
just great to hear depth of collections. brilliant programming, bill.

so glad you uploaded this. I was desperate to get some songs other than "Lips like Sugar" on RP, esp. after most of the "Heaven Up Here" songs were rejected. :( Anyway, thanks for this! The Bunnymen are so good and have been for so long.
I've always liked "Make Me Shine" with its backwards guitar. Never heard this one, its cool.

Echo & The Bunnymen is one of those names I heard quite often during college, but never knew what they sounded like -- for some reason never became familiar with them or remember hearing them. Hearing this, I can't help but think what a shame.
