Mighty might fine and soulful pickin'.  I've been trying to perform this song live for ages and cannot quite get it.  People seem to dig it but I can never really nail it down.

Hey, we can carp about the photo or the graphics on the cover but it's a great great album. "Sound like a law firm" my ass.
excellent!!!  I like this. I don't care what anybody else has to say.  Thanx RP

I haven't laughed that hard or that long in forever. I was doing OK until I got to the Ken and Barbie part! Snot's still running out of my nose!

Screen grab with comments, going right on FB.

I'd seen that disturbing Ken cover before but the comments!

Thank you everyone!

The cover would be fine if they had just used a normal font for the album title. Artist names up top = fine. Photo = fine. 1980s kiddie hodgepodge fonts for title = terrible!

Skip the cowbell, needs more Comic Sans!

You win. (I found the music pleasant myself, but Bluezak does seem to fit)

It may be a somewhat commonplace album cover, but I wouldn't call it "terrible", and there are thousands of covers which are much more "cheesy" than this one.

Right. I bought the CD, great tracks, especially "From Ankara to Istanbul".

When I heard "From Ankara to Istanbul" on RP some years ago - I sat up and remember being blown away by it. I'd never heard of the album but bought it immediately. I play it regularly.

Yes - the cover is not the greatest shall we say.

More Bluegrass. Less Bluezak.
I discovered this album on here when I heard Big Sciota. The whole album is sensational.
Incredible musicians. This album is one of my favorite of all time.
This album has the most lopsided ratio imaginable of Awesome Music / Awful Cover.

Check out Alison Krauss and Union Station - Jerry Douglas plays in Union Station, and the DVD of their concert in Kentucky back in 2005ish is something you'll cherish forever. Jerry Douglas is a genius. This song is great, I concur.

It is so wonderful to hear a concert bass in a pop group in place of a booming electric bass not that I have anything against electronic but it does get tiring to old ears.

HAR!!!!
Excellent song off of an outstanding album. I just love the way they compliment each others talents and individual sounds. Alas, it does seem that my memory of the song is that it is longer than Bill's recording... off to find my album to confirm or deny this.
what just happened?  The song did not play all the way through?

Sometimes, timing is EVERYTHING ....

Always a treat to hear these guys!
My all-time favorite tune in the universe.  Gets me on a primal level.

Definitely

Yeah......this is beautiful music. We bought this from Amazon after hearing it here on RP. We then wanted to put it on our MP3 player.......but oohher missus....ye need a licence ...says Microsoft......which we duly downloaded  .......but afterwards we are still being asked for a licence. Cannot play.....now not even on our main computer. Is this a bit wierd or what? We have hundreds of CD's...all paid for properly!...but just this one will not work. Anyone know how to do this?  Other than that this is a great CD. Cheers  from Claire.
too short.  too short.  too short by far.  first time i've heard this, and am now going to busily peruse the music sites for more, more, more.

Wow, is it really that short or is it that I'm just really into it and don't notice its has been on long enough that it has to inevitably ends.
Very nice. Richard Thompson would be a great segue.
Love the song, but probably the cheesiest album cover ever.
It doesn't get much better than this. 10!
Whoa, sweet.

Revision 1/20/09 Some very nice listener on RP forwarded me a copy of this CD via the internet last year after reading my post. Thank you very much Mr. Gregg. You gotta love RP, it PAYs. {#Biggrin}
one of my favorite songs from JD. A BEAUTIFUL 10. A nice surprise during this mellow set. Thanks Bill!
Jerry is the man! Those other chaps are worthy of G-D like status as well! Thanks RP! Please play more!
Wow, never expected to hear Jerry Douglas here. What a treat.
Excellant tunage!! *drifts and floats*
I wish I could play guitar like that. Nice!
it soars seeminglessly in the room. Peaceful yet powerful
Beautiful, more please!
i love this. it's so soothing.
Wonderful.
Beautiful tune to hear anytime, but especially @ 3:15 a.m. in the morning. :o)
I think any young person thinking of playing the guitar should listen to this before thinking of being an "axe man" This music is absolutely fantastic to work to
Sublime. Love it.
First time I've caught this on "air" since I uploaded it months ago. Nice to hear it mixed in as only Bill seems able to know how. Excellent.
a very relaxing sound
always a treat to hear Jerry Douglas-thanks Bill!
