Well versed I am in the taint of my birth, my diminishing role in this
sphere, But sometimes I require a communiqué from the Mother to
make it clear,
Well England is pretty in the summer time, boys are beautiful till
the age of nine, and certainly women begin to pine for usurping their
leaden fear,

But after making love we hear nothing Mother Greer.

Tiptoe, tiptoe with me...

O no tiptoe of tiny feet may sound or tiny heartbeat pound in our ears, waking up with the sweats and the terrors like some fifty five year old corporateer,
Who after making love he hears nothing Mother Greer,
Yes after making love we hear nothing Mother Greer.

Rise, rise, rise and tune your pianos, I hear the wind whistle through
their teeth, you cheating sons from your deep, your dreamless, endless, arse-facing, walking sleep...
(you cheating sons of deceit while I'm breaking melodies every time I breathe...)

After making love we hear nothing Mother Greer,
Why are there so many of you over there when you can't even
get over here?
After making tracks we hear nothing Mother Greer.

As I have  commented, with reference to other songs from this album, this band sounds remarkably different from song to song. Not only are the instrumentals full of unexpected twists and turns, but the lyrics are sure to baffle. Overall a really good album that I have listened to until my daughter complained. Their influences, as noted in other comments, are quite varied.

Nice pop song

Great to see this band on RP. They are awesome. Glenn Richards is brilliant.

I'm hearing Ryan Adams, which isn't bad either.

Stranger Strange is the best off this. Melbourne's finest!
Yeah they're still one of my favourite Melbourne bands, but I liked their first two albums (Sunset Studies and Strange Bird) a lot better than this one. My favourite song of this album was Bottle Baby - I sometimes cover that song and get a great response.

Not Bad. But not that great.

Not bad. I thought I was listening to a new Roger McGuin (of the Birds) release.
That was the Byrds, not Birds. Sorry, had to correct that.
Lame, very lame. 5.7 rating is being very kind.
after making love we hear nothing, mother greer!

I pretty much was convinced this was Roger McGuinn, myself.......sounds good to me.

Wow what's with the uber low rating? This song is better than many a song I've heard on here. Not bad, not bad at all
I agree, and I just did what I could to rectify it. An 8.

That's who it reminds me of! Yup.
Music is meh, but the album cover/title is cool. That's definitely a nice little feature of RP.

Whatever, I LIKE this Augie guy!
Hey Boosiewolf, Augie March (the band) isn't a guy, they're from Melbourne Australia. The band's name is taken from the title of a novel by American writer Saul Bellow - The Adventures of Augie March. They're a pretty good sounding outfit. Google ' em... Ciao mach-hog
Excessive comparisons with other artists generally indicate a lack of originality. Pleasant enough tune, but the spark of creativity is missing for me.

Not particularly good either.

I heard THAT! Good on ya -- you're laughing!
and i thought it was ryan adams/whiskeytown.

I thought this was a new World Party tune, first time I heard it. Nice tune, even if it's not Karl Wallinger.

Back to back Beatles rip offs! Clever idea for a set.

Thank you kimbui1.
for more!
I thought I was listening to the Waterboys! Nice sound even though there is no connection in bands as they are decades apart and thousands of miles between.
I liked that -- very sweet sound and wistful lyrics. At first I thought I was hearing a lost George Harrison song...
They remind me a little of the Byrds.
*YAWN*
... Thanx for the upload whoever, they're triff, thanks RP for your diverse and challenging choices! ... ...
