Well nighttime let her through
Yeah I'm talking to you
I wanna see her
Precious little thing
With eyes that dance around without their clothes

So buy a pretty dress
Wear it out tonight
For anyone you think could out do me
Or better still be my winding wheel

Cause I feel just like a map
Without a single place to go of interest
And I'm further North than South
If I could shut my mouth she'd probably like this

So buy a pretty dress
And wear it out tonight
For all the boys you think could out do me
Or better still be my winding wheel
Be my winding wheel

Well the children laugh and sing a song that ushers in her driving rain
And I'm standing in the station like some old record waiting on a train

So buy a pretty dress
Wear it out tonight
For anyone you think could out do me
Or better still be my winding wheel
Be my winding wheel

Love & miss hearing Ryan Adams on RP.  The man remains one of our  greatest, eclectic singer songwriters, whose music continues to help so many.  Lift the ban, enough already, please!

Actually, Ryan Adams has not been around longer than Mr. Gray, but it's not like either of those guys invented this style of singing.  Folky-type guys have been singing in this style for decades.
....lovely song.....{#Daisy}
Great song from his best album.
Good to hear some RA on RP.
wow, that was powerful. definitely need to add that to shopping cart.

I swore we were listening to David Gray too.  And I beg to differ — AMG lists David Gray's first album in 1993 — this predates Whiskeytown's first release listed at 1996 (however it does say they were "formed" in 1994).  And David Gray is 42, so he's had his voice longer than Ryan at 36.............  just sayin

You'd be surprised how much of today's music is based on country, one way or the other...

I think this one's amazing!!

If you have not heard it, find his Suicide Handbook internet album, sad but brilliant.
Love Ryan circa 1997 - 2002ish... Super important artist I my life... Take me back to when me and my roommate sat around Sunday morning playing guitars (Ryan Adams Songs and others) and drinking coffee.

Yeah, I see what you mean.  Mr. Adams is easier to enjoy when he simplifies things a bit.

I love this album, but I have to say that it doesn't make much sense to me. I mean, "I love a woman that rains". What?

Now that is funny. Fetishists ahoy!
This guy is wacky but also definitely a brilliant songwriter.

Quite a talent this lad ...although his music often seems to be born of an earlier time, his music harkens back to some of the great traditional songwritters!
Then again, if you listened to "Rock n Roll", his tongue-in-cheek jab at the recording industry, he deliberately sounded as contemporary as the most polished Foo Fighters album. It was brilliant work.
Ryan Adams tells some real good stories. I love him!

A great song from a classic album.

Gorgeous. The whole album is life enhancing.
Ryan, Ryan where's you flava? :)
I can handle ANY increase of the 'RA on RP' quota..
God I love this album Question: "In My Time Of Need," did Ryan Adams write this for real? Isn't it some old folk song?
That's just a great, simple song. Nice to hear in this age of prefab music, this kind of thing is still made.
sweet, lovely.
Wow. Amazing song. I've loved it for a while now... I love the.. "Buy a pretty dress.. wear it out tonight... for all the boys you think could out do me..."..... so confident he is. I love it.
"Famous" story from the Ryan Adams newsgroups... Ryan Adams is at a party and Dylan is there. Dylan plops down beside him, and asks "so what the fuck is a Winding Wheel?" Adams shrugs. "I dunno." good song? Um, yeah. TJ
Does Ryan Adams get enough airtime on RP? Not enough for me. (FYI - I'm on EDST and I typically work 9-4)
this guy just sings straight to my heart
