Definately some Cowboy Junkies.

Yes! But I hear a little Cowboy Junkies as well.

I've tried to like it. When it played after Fiona today, the starkness between the artists allowed me to realize what a drag this tune is. Maybe for a zombie film...
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....{#Sleep}
... ugh.... hm..... yep!
my heart is running on `empty` too.....
speaking from my soul!

thank you!

i like it....cool voice....moody.
Dear lord make it end.  Annoying voice, annoying repetition, stupid lyrics.

Nice.
Love it when guitar is so clear and clean as this.

Do like my new CD-G?
This song is dirge-like. Rather than sad, she just sounds bored.

Oh thank goodness. I have had this song stuck in my head all morning for some reason. Good timing
Lovely song. Thank you Fontaine!
One good line does not a good ditty make. Pity, 'cos it deserves better.
If I hear this song when my heart is running on empty, it slays
You know, when she says (over, and over, and over) her heart is running on empty - I have to confess that I find it completely believable.
Got to thinking that this could use a cup of coffee

A bit unfair. Lovely sound, nice track, nothing new here, but there's nothing much original around anyway.

Never heard of this band (but I really liked it).
Now I'll be singing this until tomorrow morning. Very cathcy, beautiful song
An old soul in a young voice.

Just the song I needed now that the sun has set an' Runnin' On Empty seems so appropriate!
I know it's only 7am +- in CA, but how about something more energetic? This piece sounds like the singer is going to sleep at a crawl.

Me too! I got Fontaine's CD from CDBaby on Saturday, and I have listened to it non-stop!!! All the songs are GREAT! Wow, "Paris, Tx" .. they are all soooo good. Additionally, her yet to be released songs "Time" and "Gone Till November" are equally as awesome (you can find them on via her Fontainemusic.com site). I wish she would hurry and release another album. I wish I could see one of her shows. Lastly, I wish her songs were all twice as long - it's always a dissappointment when they end. I am so hooked...
... any friend of Fontaine is a hug of mine!
slow. depressing. but it fits the message.

Luv ya!
I like the rootsy feel to this.
She reminds me a little of Aimee Mann.
As for the chemistry between us, just say no to drugs.
Is is possible that we now have the woman equivalent of Cash? I'm bookin' ma ticket to where this cat plays next

There is a mistake here. Your adress should be under Sony, Warner, Universal or EMI. People got to have access to your music. Of course, us lucky and inquesitive few hook on RP... and there are good independants retailers like CD Baby. By the way tell Bill and Rebecca that the link to your site on RP goes to Jean De Lafontaine, the well known french poet of old... you know, the rabbitt and the turtle... Ciao
Thanks so much RTK....I have to say, I'm a huge fan of Radio Paradise......listen all the time......the album is called "The Chemistry between Us" and is available on ITunes and CD Baby.....website is www.fontainemusic.com. Cheers.....Fontaine RTK wrote:

Too much Mazzy Star? Not possible. I like this. Sure, I wouldn't play it if I were throwing a rave (do the kids throw "raves" anymore?) but there's nothing wrong with smooth and pleasant.
Sounds like: Hope Sandoval from Mazzy Star when she hits 50.

please don't change for anybody fontaine, love you just the way you are, life is not always a bed of roses and that needs to be aired in music and the arts as well as happy happy happy, most of us know what it's like to be 'runnin' on empty'

Low rent Lucinda Williams.
such a great song.... there's something very honest and raw about it - it's refreshing.
the rest of her record doesn't sound like mazzy star.....this song does, and there's definitely influence, but i bought her record on cd baby, and i think it's very good - and original. rsfc_carp wrote:

Great song, reminds me a bit of Trespassers William but with a slightly different sound.
