I had a dream last night
I dreamt that I was swimming
And the stars up above
Directionless and drifting
Somewhere in the dark
Were the sirens and the thunder
And around me as I swam
The drifters who'd gone under

Time, love
Time, love
Time, love
It's only a change of time

I had a dream last night
And rusting far below me
Battered hulls and broken hardships
Leviathan and Lonely
I was thirsty so I drank
And though it was salt water
There was something 'bout the way
It tasted so familiar

Time, love
Time, love
Time, love
It's only a change of time

The black clouds I'm hanging
This anchor I'm dragging
The sails of memory rip open in silence
We cut through the lowlands
All hands through the saltlands
The white caps of memory
Confusing and violent

I had a dream last night
And when I opened my eyes
Your shoulder blade, your spine
Were shorelines in the moon light
New worlds for the weary
New lands for the living
I could make it if I tried
I closed my eyes I kept on swimming

Time, love
Time, love
Time, love
It's only a change of
Time, love
Time, love
Time, love
It's only a change of
Time, love
Time, love
Time, love
It's only a change of
Time, love
Time
Time, love
It's only a change of
Time, love
Time, love
Time, love
It's only a change of
Time, love
Time, love
Time, love
It's only a change of time

This whole CD is just incredible - a must buy!

Agreed, one of the best of 2015.
Today is the release date of a novel by this talented musician: "In Josh Ritter's first novel, Bright's Passage, a WWI soldier goes home to West Virginia and must protect himself and his infant son. The book contains Ritter's trademark combination of humor, gothic themes and fantastical imagery (an angel who inhabits the body of a horse)."

Sounds like he's got Sigur Ros backing him up. Not bad.
Wow, I didn't know the guy from Three's Company was such a great musician!
Had to stop and see what this song was ... nice!

This cd/album is quite good.
This came up on me slowly. When it started playing, it was just nice background, but by the end of the song, it had grabbed my attention, finishing on a high note (figuratively speaking).
Quite likeable.  I think the more I hear this song, the more I will like it.
