And my heart is a ghost
And he drinks and he smokes
And he keeps me awake
All through the night my heart shakes

So I live alone
Drink beer by the phone and it keeps me alive
I know there is hope but I can't look for it
There are leaves in the trees, there are trees in the forest
There are leaves in the trees, there are trees in the forest

Oh, out in the woods
Out in the field as the hard rains fall
Rust in the wheels of my ten speed
And I ride in the rain
The rain and the wind and it keeps my sane
My head is a god and i can't speak for it

There are leaves in the trees, there are trees in the forest
There are leaves in the trees, there are trees in the forest
There are leaves in the trees, there are trees in the forest

That's the trouble with everything
Everything always does that
That's the thing about everything
Everything always does that

There are leaves in the trees, there are trees in the forest
There are leaves in the trees, there are trees in the forest
There are leaves in the trees, there are trees in the forest

If this song gets played in the forest, but no one is there to hear it, do the lyrics still suck?

(credit to a coworker for that one)

This song would suck in a vacuum.

c'mon-nothing? I thought this was pretty funny.

was that a segue or is this a different song ?

It depends on how high you were when you wrote your question.

Don't need this one. No thanks.
...hey, new dan mangan!..
First reaction to this...   I gotta hear more of this guy!

Managed to catch Dan a couple of times. Great fun.
A great talent.
This is not one of my favorite tunes but it is growing on me.
I do hope his next album catches fire with many more to come.

Pleasant and simple. Needs the right moment to inspire. Great music inspires the moment.

I like the off-tempo feel of this tune - unusual.  At least no one has accused this of being "too derivative" of something or other.

Let's see - everything appears to be a half-beat behind, the first batch of singing sounds like it's coming from the back of a cave, and the lyrics, other than at the end, can't be made out. A bit of a dog's breakfast, all in all. 2 from the Nottingham jury.
or was it sleeves dipped in grease, grease from the florist?
Leaves in the trees and the trees ...where? Couldn't he repeat it a few dozen more times?

Not my favourite of his but give the earlier Nice, Nice, Very Nice album a listen and you will become a fan.

Oh man, this is awful, awful, awful. Did I repeat that enough for this song?

Three times too many actually. Fits in with his repertoire perfectly. Thanks anyway.

There are people in the town. There are towns in the country.
