What good is it to have
Freemen who sleep in this world of suffering

Wake up, my people
Straighten up, my people
Confront the difficulties of your current situation
A long road awaits you

Freemen who sleep in this world of suffering
Freemen suffering shows us that times have changed

Loved it!

Good tune, but sounds like it has the same vile production of The Black Keys.

It sounds a little cleaner to me and it doesn't have the muffled vocals that the Black Keys seem to be obsessed with.

Me too. The albums (Desert Blues1 and 2) are still in steady rotation in my playlist.

What's the bike on the cover? Any ideas?

Looks to me like a 1971 Honda CB750, but not absolutely sure. Africans are capable of assembling bikes out of anything, just like in Mad Max.

More good stuff from RP.  Thanks.
I love the melodic effect that grabs me and makes this a cut above the norm for 'ethnic' music. To me, it stands by itself and doesn't need any 'look at me humouring people so unlike me, aren't I a nice person' bien pendant ignoramus promotion.

Ps I love the previous comment about a bike in the dessert.  I have visions of it getting stuck in lakes of melting ice cream or crushed by rocks of meringue.

I seriously love Bombino. Thanks for playing this, Bill.

Great Groove - melodic and hypnotic.
Solid groove, but craving punchier percussion... maybe even some tabla added in. Still, solid 7

A regular RP "ethnic-type" sorta thing : 5 at best!

Welcome to the Global Village.

Not sure. Found the artist perryshall.com. About the cover:

The man is Bombino (Omar Moctar) himself. Dan and the label had some ideas of Bombino on the motorcycle riding through the dessert. I was the person to make that happen. I don't know if there's much else besides the technique and other ideas I could bring to the table. I'm stoked on it and the record itself is amazing.

It shure is giving us a break from all that anglo music.

Sounds just like "Amidinine", which played earlier today..  I mean, it's good, but I'm getting Bombino fatigue.

I gave it a nine. This album is currently in heavy rotation at Poacher Mansions.

'Ethnic'? All music is sort of 'ethnic' :)
Nice track! Melodic and happy! Dance thy ass off!
