Ye lowlives
laughing too much
never close your eyes
til the sun's coming up
underslept, overdreamt

my whole life
trying to speak
but silent
with so much beneath it
that thick wind under the surface
you don't know me, or my purpose
or my promise, i got promise

your hands and feet
for all of their grief
turned out to be
only your elbows and knees
you go farther, you're just starting to see

and you see that red pen
hover in judgement
and that census
get those numbers away from us
cause honest, we got nothing
in our pockets but thin wrists
and promise, we got promise

i'm waking up
pull me from my sheets in the dark
as if in a dream, lifting off
let me feel it shift in my blood
let me feel like i'm rising up
out of all the ashes and dust
out of all the past - that's done
i don't need what's long dead and gone, man, i got promise
i got promise...

Loudshirtsband, my respect
I wish I had your patience.
I just noticed the kintsugi on the cover, although I'm apparently not the first. I was curious -- looks like this predates the Death Cab for Cutie album by a year.
I thought this was my morning jacket at first

I learnt something new. Thanks.

haven't heard Hey Rosetta in a long time. i really liked everything from Bricks. are they still together? i thought they may have broken up and the lead went out on his own. hmm. regardless, it's good to hear them again.
The farthest I've ever driven was from the Pacific NW to St John's. The best part? Gambled and won: The weather was gorgeous along Newfoundland's East Coast Trail. And I stumbled upon the remote station that first received the Titanic's distress call.

Now that is funny

Wow. There's a game that I haven't heard since the 20th century.

I really like the way RP listeners defend RP and Bill. It's admirable.

I thought they were singing about your mom

It's called Kintsugi :
the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum
(Wikipedia)
These guys are pretty good IMHO. That red heart tune is pretty good too!

It's up near the top of our list.

One of my favorite places to be stattioned... had to travel the world for work before I retired.. Would go back to Newfoundland in a heartbeat! Ditto comment on the NL people. There is hope for humanity; and it is apparent in Newfoundland culture!

Go ahead and screech in, you wont be disappointed!
One of the very few songs I have rated a 10 on RP

You should get out more - out of here would be a good start

The Rosetta Stone may be seen in the British Museum in London.

HIghly listenable tune.

btw, who is Rosetta?

According to wiki:
The origin of the band's name is inspired from the Rosetta Stone which was a stele written in three languages: Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs, Demotic and Ancient Greek.

Today the Rosetta spacecraft will engage its thrusters to land on comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko after a couple of years orbiting and a decade of chasing the comet.  Hey Rosetta!

Wow this is amazing thanks Bill! What a groove.
I have seen them perform so many times now - they are such a great band to see live.  The first time was many years ago in the afternoon at a weekend outdoor music-fest in our little town of Halifax - they absolutely killed it for a crowd of about 200 people.  I knew then and there they would be big one day.

I like them.  Optionally.

i got an audience with Promise..
I don't know, a '5' maybe. Seems like I've heard a lot of this same song format, tempo, and key before here, and this brings nothing new or different.

I like the album cover though.
i bumped it up a couple of rating points
the more i hear it the more i like it
A fresh wall of sound. A stellar album...again. These folks keep pumping it out.
Reminds me of Grizzly Bear...which is a good thing{#Bananajam}

Just keep them away from the bathtub; appliances always seem to forget about the dangers of water.  Nice Oxford commas.

The Internet of Things is moving forward, I see... ;-)
Always nice to hear music from home.

Thank you.
Very nice!
These guys and gals opened for Gomez a couple of years ago......Man, what a show!!!!!

Yes, me too.  I'm good with that.  ;)
Ahhh!  Music from home!

The song had almost completely slipped by by time I had noticed it.

Keep up the good tunes.  And thanks!

Saw these guys at Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion in Bristol TN/VA.  Great performance.  Quality song writing, surprising arrangements.  Thanks, Bill.
This is great.  I feel that this is what Coldplay could sound like if Martin didn't do the vocals.
Well evidently everyone else likes this but me. I switched to the Pink Floyd FloydStory station pretty quickly after giving this a Ho-Hum....sorry....I don't get the love.

If you like this one, there is another song from the same album on the Submissions page. It's called Soft Offering (For The Oft Suffering). There is a video of the band playing the song. Check it out and give it a vote if you like it. Not that I'm campaigning for it ... {#Wink}
NICE. Came in on the second half. Can we do an encore?
A nice fresh sound from the Rock. Good to hear something besides Great Big Sea.
