I prefer the original by far, but this isn't too egregious. Well, not at the moment, anyway.
I actually thought this version was rather interesting.
I\'m not sure how to rate it, though, as I never really cared for the original.

This is such a great CD, at least the first CD, don\'t care much for CD 2. I think I\'ll dig it out and listen to the PleasureDome!
ouuuccchhhh. Yuk. Great example of how to take all the passion out of a lyric, and make it entirely annoying.

I've always said that while listening to this album one can easily be swept away by the signature Trevor Horn production.
Wonderful album.
Welcome to the Pleasuredome just happens to be one album where there is a marked difference between the mixes of the vinyl and CD versions. The vinyl has a huge soundstage whereas the CD has quite a lot of separation. Plus, left-right imaging is swapped in places. If you have the opportunity to hear the two media, and happen to be a bit of an audio engineer, check it out. You'll be surprised how different, yet alike, they are.

I was in LA when Frankie was a hit and was also a KROQ addict. I have the vinyl of this album and think is is great! KROQ as always was always on the cutting edge of what was hip on the music scene so if you do not evolve with music you generally stay stagnant in one era.
The 80s was a great era for music just like the 60s. Sure there was some real duds produced in both decades, but Frankie really broke ground musically and politically. thanks to RP is is still getting air play and stirring up controversy.

i hardly say bad things about certain songs. the if you don't have anything nice to say syndrom.BUT... i really never did care for frankie. they remind me of a time when i was listening to kroq-fm (l.a.), and it seemed at that moment they (kroq) were losing it, becoming more predictable and commercial. and i blame, frankie. well.. maybe not. i just despise this song.
Gawd no... I have an appreciation for 80\'s music, but I have my limits... and this song o\'erstepped them by a mile or so.
So that\'s two 1s I\'ve given now.
Frankie is one of my favorite 80s bands. Great to hear Frankie played on Radio Paradise. First time I\'ve heard them here. RP has such an eclectic play list!! That\'s why I tune in.
But if you\'re going to play Frankie, Relax and Two Tribes are infinitely superior. Welcome to the Pleasure Dome is another great song of theirs.
An interesting bit of kitch, but overall this was one of so many 80s bands in that never created anything quite as cool as their name.
It\'s hard not to appreciate a song that samples both Ronald Reagan and \"War (huh!)\".
I, too, wouldn\'t mind hearing \"Relax\", because I think it\'s even harder not to appreciate a flamboyantly gay band from the 80s singing a song about abstinence with an accompanying video filled with sexual debauchery.
I had completely forgotten about this album. kinda pleasant in a nostalgic sorta way.

that \"bass\"-line sounds like Ms PacMan. yuck.
The narrator sounds like Ronald Reagan doing War Of The Worlds (wouldn\'t surprise me!) Strange band. Glad (and- again, not sursprised) they didn\'t last and have become some weird memory of the past.
