What is it that makes me just a little bit queasy?
There's a breeze that makes my breathing not so easy
I've had my lungs checked out with x-rays
I've smelled the hospital hallways

Someday I'll have a disappearing hairline
Someday I'll wear pyjamas in the daytime

Times when the day is like a play by Sartre
When it seems a bookburning's in perfect order...
I gave the doctor my description
I've tried to stick to my prescriptions

Someday I'll have a disappearing hairline
Someday I'll wear pyjamas in the daytime

Afternoons will be measured out
Measured out, measured with
Coffeespoons and T.S. Eliot

Maybe if I could do a play-by-playback
I could change the test results that I will get back
I've watched the summer evenings pass by
I've heard the rattle in my bronchi....

Someday I'll have a disappearing hairline
Someday I'll wear pyjamas in the daytime

Afternoons will be measured out
Measured out, measured with
Coffeespoons and T.S. Eliot

puh-jam-uhs
Oh how I love this song and album with geeky glee
Never understood the appeal or popularity of this band.
The singer and his brother have a live CD, acoustic just the two of them. Do a good job of tunes and the singer has a good sense of humour ... well made me laugh.{#Roflol}

I always think he's going to belch when this song begins.

Pee-jays.

There was a stretch during the mid-90s when alt rock groups seemed convinced that they had to sing in forced, off-key styles to make it big. Crash Test Dummies was one of those annoying bands. I don't know if I've ever heard this song before, but their bigger hit off of this album "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm" was majestically awful.

Forced, maybe.  Off-key, definitely not.  The guy's a barritone, something rarely heard in pop music.  I liked these guys mainly b/c there was finally something out there in my vocal range but also b/c they were a little folksy, a little alt, had a decent groove and weren't singing about how shitty life was, as was the case w/grunge.
LOL .. this guy's voice is too cool for such happy song  hahhaa

...and then he goes on to sing "and T.S. Eliot in the afternoons" so I reckon you got that one.

Sounds just like a 'stretch' from ANY music era.  I LIKED the CTD's for that very reason...they were different with catchy tunes.  Loved 'em.  Great writing, too.  And yes, the album notes say the "coffee spoons" is from t.s. elliot

No. Never could stand this guys voice. The instrumentals are fine. But his voice is like a warm mouth rinse of gasoline and rusty nails.

I think someone spilled some Blues Traveler in here?
I prefer god shuffled his feet... this is just okay.

Yeah, I can just see you chair dancing.... all over that green carpet in the Brady Basement.... and oh, grab me a beer from behind the bar, will ya?  x
not sure if i wanna hear this again.{#Eyes}
I gave it a 6 just because this guy's voice (and the silly harmonica) make me laugh.

Yes - totally!

Quite possibly, the definition of "good pop music".

Great song, great album!
My husband used to sing this to our kids when they were little. He was a small guy with a big baritone voice. He died before he got a chance to do this stuff.
Peace.
A little pick-me-up in the afternoon. Haven't heard it in a long time.

What rathole did this guy go down?
Gosh, haven't heard this in ages - nice treat from the wayback machine.

And it makes me think: do you say puh-jah-muhs or pih-jam-uhs?

Resonance with eternal appeal - still hits the emotional groove!
There is a reason they never had another hit after this alblum.  And it isn't because of some crazy heroine addiction or anything like that.  It's because this voice and sound is interesting for about 2 weeks. then blech   "never want to hear it again."

Fake voice. Real irritating.
Probably one of my favorite songs of the '90s.  A gem indeed.

Nothing. Some singers can break crystal with their voices, but Brad can knock down a building.
Wow, I haven't heard this in something like 14 years! CRAAAZZZY! Kinda fun nostalgia!
Once every 5 years is about right! Might segue into The National pretty well tho, voice-wise.

Wow. Mom always told me "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." I always thought these guys were kidding, like Tenacious D or Spinal Tap. Then again, I also thought that about 4 Non Blonz, too. I love the variety on RP, but (to borrow a really uptight coworker's remark about Rage Against The Machine) "this is the exact kind of music I hate." This is the first song I've ever bothered to click on a rating of "1." And if they DO play "Mmmm Mmmmm Mmmm Mmmm" and my web browser somehow locks and I can't shut it off, I'm gonna climb a water tower with a rifle. Sorry mom.....
Guess I didn't really need to say it twice....
Just great. Love this song, and the band!
Have I mentioned how much I can\'t stand this guys voice?

make the bad man stop.
This is from a very solid album. I really enjoy the wit and wordplay of the Dummies. Glad to hear this in Paradise.
Ahhh! His voice hurts my head!!
