A favorite song from a homey.
I prefer the Everclear take on this fascinating subject.

Most Excellent
I, for some reason, kept hearing "Chunkie Girl" and thought 1) I too like chunkie girls...  2) writing a song about it would make me an instant a-hole.

A quick alt-tab showed "Junkie Girl."  Better I suppose...

Still, not a bad song.
Wow - this blindsided me.  I was listening while answering an e-mail, and suddenly, I had this really great story idea, so I abruptly ended the e-mail and listened harder. Something about the haunting reverb and the shuffling backbeat.... Like a lot of others, I thought it was U2, but I'm glad it's not - it's so much BETTER this way!

Gotta go write now.

3 words: Jon Bon Jovi
More Sonny Bono than Bono! Ambivalent...

Was listening with the sound low and though (until I looked at computer) that this was something else off of the new U2 album.
It's your JUNKIE song...

Love the guitar, nice chunky beat. The album (CD) not as good as this song, though.
yeah I agree...
This song has a very U2-thing going on. Regardless of who came first, thats the prism people are going to see it through. This is the first song I have heard on RP since starting to listen a couple of weeks ago, that I just want to end, ASAP.

There it is, there.
This song really hit me for personal reasons and because it sounds a lot like The Birds..Anyone hear it? The album is not as good ..The other song I liked was Southeast of nowwhere...

620 W. Surf is uneven like that too. Still, when he gets it right, its nice. Mikec445 wrote:

Doesn't sound like my kind of girl. Or, my kind of music, for that matter. Unlike a lot of the stuff I hear on RP, this is NOT something I'll be rushing out to buy. #-o

I would've bet the ranch this was U2. Michael's voice sounds VERY Bono-like, and the arrangemnt reminds me at times of "Until the End of the World."
you're dead-on with that comment. definitely sounds like it could've fit in on the Achtung Baby album. i diggit.

If you didn't know the title, you would really think that he was talking about a "Chunky" girl.
Eep! *yawn* Maybe it's just this time of day but it makes me sleepy. -_- zzzzz

Sounds great to me. Nice hypnotic beat & ringing sounds.
Wish I was here.....

That's a bit strong, though personal of course, but I don't see why you can dislike it SO much? Topic? Musically it's not bad, nor the singing...

you know, I didn't know I would end up liking this song so much!! I can't believe how much it grew on me.
I love the guitars in this song! spacey to the max.
Sheeees my Juggy Girl!
U2 + Gomez + sprinkle of Kravitz.

How perfectly put! I can't believe how many singers need to cut Bono a check!!!
A slightly more country Lenny Kravitz?
Chunkie Girl?..... Chucky Girl? Oh Junkie Girl.... It's a better song if I hear he's not singing about a girl version of the Chucky Doll (from the horror flick Childs Play)or Bride Of Chucky
a little boring

Oh, how I miss the Man Show...\"she\'s my juggie girl\" Is this ZZ Top or Bono, I can\'t tell?
The first song I heard here on RP from this artist was nothing more than a bad impression of Bruce. This is much more interesting, a little Daniel Lanois in the music.
