Well, I'm old enough to know the score
I'm yound enough to want more more more
There's a demon deep inside of me
Some times I let the old boy run free
Don't think twice when the sun goes down

I'm troublebound
Try to make a living during the day
Deep in the night I throw it all away
There's a demon deep inside of me
Sometimes I let the old boy run free

Huh. I also know someone whose daughter was Dave's girlfriend. And probably not the same guy, based on location. Dave must get around...

Spooky. My dad's name was Dave.....
5.8 average rating on this?

That is a crime.

i always liked "marie, marie". i found out something the other day. i was working in somebody's house and noticed a copy of "no depression" (the magazine) on their coffee table. it was a recent issue with dave alvin on the cover. i asked the husband "who read that"? since he and his wife are older than myself, (really old), and i thought i was the only person in this desert that read "that" magazine, i was stunned! he told me his daughter is daves main squeeze! well he didn't phrase it that way. needless to say i was stunned again! after picking myself up of the floor... i thought, cool. i'm 3 degrees removed from dave alvin. now who wants to hear my story about working on marilyn monroes old house? :nodhead:

Not getting the honk/swing hate.  This is great stuff and makes me want to twirl my girl and afterwards crack a beer.  Ain't nothin'...
I like the pictures of the trash pandas that are shown on the slideshow when this song plays.

Repeating your comment doesn't make true. The Blasters are fantastic. It's your ears that suck.

Hey, that's a cool story, Kurt. Did the parents' like Dave?

The Blasters should have been bigger. They always seemed a lot more authentic than the Stray Cats and lot more versatile musically as well. My favorite Blasters was "I Love You So": it just rocks all the way.

So yeah, tell us the story about working on Marilyn's old house. Find anything interesting?

Stay up all night writing that?  A+

Even though I was born in the 60s, I know what you mean. This has a bit of the 50s doo-wop sound.

Yeah!!! I love these guys!
Rock and roll + rock-a-billy. Dave Alvin one of the key members has done much solo work and was a member of the band X. All good stuff.

The drummer and I think one or two other fellas from this band went on to play in a great LA blues act called the Red Devils during the early 90s. The Devils are no more, and in fact the lead singer died of an OD in the late 90s, under suspicious circumstances.

Now THAT kicks ass!
This stuff is really good for its day. Webb Wilder could kick some ass, but I don't believe this music is about kicking ass, really. Maybe driving your pickup down the two-lane at 90 miles an hour drunk off yer ass, but if you had to stop and kick ass, or get yours kicked, you wouldn't be listening to the Blasters, now would you?
kool.

Never heard of these guys before, but like 'em a lot. Real music that harks back to the stuff I heard regularly growing up. Rock on.
Woeful to say the least
