Do you want to be my side dish friend?
'Cause I'll miss you if you go for good, yeah.
We can stay together till the very end of time,
If it's understood...

That I don't want you hanging out with me,
But I want you when I call.
We can stay together separately,
And we wont be lonely at all.
Oh boy, oh boy,
I got to think about that.
Oh boy.

Do you want to be the one on hold?
'Cause you know I'll always come right back.
We can find a quiet place for both of us to go,
If you always know...

That I don't want you hanging out with me,
But I want you when I call.
We can stay together separately,
And we wont be lonely at all.
Oh boy, oh boy,
I got to think about that cause...

Every time(every time), I think I'm alright(I think I'm doing alright)
I think, I'll win you over,
I hear you say...

That I don't want you hanging out with me,
But I want you when I call.
We can stay together separately,
And we won't be lonely at all.
I don't want to get too close to you,
And I don't want you close to me.
There's a back door waiting just for you,
If this isn't what you need.
There's a back door waiting just for you,
If this isn't what you need.

I'd probably like this a bit more if it was a bit more "spare" and not so jumbled...all the underlying vocals are unnecessary...let's here an acoustic version, shall we?
Yamagata have you!

Just tuned in and thought the same thing. Not a great song, although I like Pink.

You mean she dyes her hair?

She's great.

(And your subway photo is making me miss NYC—thanks a lot, philbertr! {#Arrowd})

sounding kind of like the Pierces(sp) ?

I'd like to be, too. {#Hug}

I like the Japanese influence in the melody;  Rachel is obviously familiar with her roots.

The second CD of this album seems to have the kickier songs.

Yeah, I can't even listen to the first disc.....too depressing! And I'm a huge tori amos fan.

Ooh, you Provocateur, you!

Give us some of that rockin' Rachael. Come On!!!!!! This stuff is tranquilizer music.
It's 4PM and grey outside. Just what I needed to help get me through the next hour and a half.

I'd be her "friend!"
Excellent

That last lyric is interesting..... {#Confused}

Yes, indeed.

I'm diggin' it! So glad to see she's back with a new album!

I disagree. It's catchy and great for listening to at work.

I'll second that - it sure blew the cobwebs off my work-fuggled mind. An immediate 8 from the Nottingham jury. And when I was an adolescent I knew only too well what it was to be a "sidedish friend" :(

Pretty unexceptional.
