It's not you. It is the music scene. Dead on arrival. We are definitely living through the 70s again. Peter Frampton ruled the airwaves because he was the closest thing to music that could be found at the time.
Mugro, I respect you and your opinion, but I think you lack the perspective (time/age) to make comments like this. That you single out Frampton as an example of how weak music in the 70's was demonstrates this. You are aware that his Comes Alive album is considered by many the greatest live album ever, yes? To say nothing of, oh, I don't know, the Who, Led Zep, Police, ... Shall I go on? Every generation swears it lives under the yoke of the worst *whatever* (music, clothes, values, etc.), then, 20 years later, looks back fondly and says, "Ah, those were great times." 50 years later, they insist theirs was the best decade of all. Let time (and age) be the judge, but I think you'll find the 00's were not as devoid of music (or values) as you believe. Now, all that said, I gotta agree this ain't the most gripping example of music around. A 5 or 6 at best. S'alright by me...there's lots more out there. :-)

this music sounds like lots of other music. have i lost the ability to distinguish music from other music, or is it the 70s again?
It's not you. It is the music scene. Dead on arrival. We are definitely living through the 70s again. Peter Frampton ruled the airwaves because he was the closest thing to music that could be found at the time. I used to think that the mid-70s were that bad because our country was going through hibernation after Watergate and Vietnam (people didn't want to argue anymore, they just wanted to hide), but it must have just been the hangover from having such great music in the late 60s early 70s. All you have to do is spend some time reading the RP forums to know that politically, it is not a boring time. Where is the vibrant artistic music to accompany the anger/angst/revolution that all you artistic types are feeling????
Never heard of The Panics. Are they any good ?slawjam wrote:

Huh. I kept expecting something to happen, but it never did.
