Seven-thirty-seven coming out of the sky
Won't you take me down to Memphis on a midnight ride
I want to move
Playing in a travelling band
Yeah!

Well, I'm flying 'cross the land, trying to get a hand
Playing in a travelling band
Take me to the hotel, baggage gone -- oh, well
Come on, come on, won't you get me to my room
I want to move
Playing in a travelling band
Yeah!

Well, I'm flying 'cross the land, trying to get a hand
Playing in a travelling band
Listen to the radio talking 'bout the last show
Someone got excited, had to call the state militia
Want to move
Playing in a travelling band
Yeah!
Well, I'm flying 'cross the land, trying to get a hand
Playing in a travelling band

Here we come again on a Saturday night
With your fussing and your fighting won't you get me to the rhyme
I want to move Playing in a travelling band
Yeah!
Well, I'm flying 'cross the land, trying to get a hand
Playing in a travelling band

So we should like this song because at one point in his career, decades ago, he was pretty good? I think not.
..who said anything about liking this song? Read the post. I'm implying that maybe he's slurring his words 'cause he's old.

ummm...he's like 80, and even when he was young he was tough to understand. But he had/has balls like church bells so who cares what he's saying?

Although I appreciate RP's programming and the wonderful flow from song to song and how it all meshes really well ............ I have NEVER liked this guy and have always thought him to have large acliam for not other reason than the shock value he did to our parents.
I have an unexplicable craving for an underaged cousin somehow...

If you like this version of a CCR rocker or not - this is a rendition by a two hearted Frankenstein at the truest root of the rock-n-roll family tree. It dont get more real than the two guys doing the performance; like it or not. ROCK-N-ROLL FOREVER!!!
What the ........terrible

and a big improvement on CCR's original version. They stink!
ha, this is great, having played CCR before this (who covered this song at one point... damn good job too!)

Sountrack to A "B" movie with characters named "Ace" and "Meat"? I appreciate the intended sentiment/ode to Jerry Lee, but man this is just so lame... I need bullets -- one of us has to go...
Jiiiihaaaaa.... The powerman and his crazy piano. Great stuff!

Don't get me wrong, I love Jerry Lee, but this entire album had a real "phoned in" feel.
I love him also. Bought "Great Balls of Fire" in 1958 at age 13 years! HOWEVER, saw him in concert about 11 years ago -- so stoned out of his mind he could hardly stand up. Couldn't even perform. Little Richard was with him and took over the entire show.

This is one mighty album, every track with Jerry an' a guest! Outstandin'!
The first record I ever bought was a '45 of Great Balls of Fire by Jerry Lee. He's still on fire!
With all due respect to Jerry Lee and John, this song is a mess.
Meh.
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !
The man has the hyperness and energy of men half his age. Wait, at 70+ years, make that a third his age.
like it - suits jerry well -
Cool, please play more from this CD. Chris
