I got my window open wide
I got my window open wide
Got a good woman by my side
Got a good woman by my side

Now this kind of day has no night
Yeah this kind of day has no night
An' I Ain't got much on my mind
Now I ain't got much on my mind
'Cause I know Something good this way comes

Now watching the streets filling up
I'm Watching the streets filling up
In the shade of the summer sun
In the shade of the summer sun

Got sweet apple pie on the stove
Got sweet apple pie on the stove
The birds they're all flyin' low
The birds they're all flyin' low
'Cause they know something good this way comes
Yeah something good this way comes

The trouble, doll, is not moving mountains
But digging the ground that you're on
If it's true that good fortune gives no chase
We got just what it takes

Collar up on my coat
Yeah collar up on my coat
Trucks are pullin' in for the show
Trucks are pullin' in for the show

A grasshopper jump in the road
A grasshopper jump in the road
Kids they're all running home
The kids they're all running home
'Cause they know something good this way comes
Yeah something good this way comes

The trouble, doll, is not moving mountains
But digging the ground that you're on
If it's true that good fortune gives no chase
We got just what it takes

I got my window open wide
I got my window open wide
I got a good woman by my side
I got a good woman by my side
'Cause I know something good this way comes
Yeah something good this way comes
Yeah something good this way comes

I dig this in an "adult kid's song" kind of way.  It has a light air to it.  Very nice musically.
Still waiting for something good to come out of this song...
regression towards the mean
Great blues as for me. good style. Got 7
and voice is better then father's for sure :)

don't forget the lyrics. The song could be 1/2 the length it is....
He has a better voice than his dad, however this song is pants!
Saw him in concert in Raleigh recently - really great.

The most memorable part was when some bombastic blowhard in the audience was blabbering away at nearly the volume of the concert and Jakob stopped and pretty much asked him to shut up - as sarcasticly as possible.   The guy did, for 15 seconds maybe then back to his "blah blah blah".   I felt bad for the band, but Jakob showed a side I wouldn't have known about.

Generally I do really like Jakob with a K, but just not sure about this CD as of this moment.
When his dad sang adolescent lyrics it was cool, but when Jakob does it it's REALLY lame.
I don't know why...
{#Roflol} well, I think the tune is kinda catchy.  Saw his dad play once, wish I didn't pay for the ticket. Bad, bad voice.

This guy sounds a lot like Bruce Sprinsteen ..... yeh.

That Bob Dylan's son would sound so much like Springstein has always weirded me out.

{#Puke} This Something Comes Way Good

i dunno, i think its a nice little ditty
Jakob's Music: Bob minus 4
Jakob's Voice: Bob plus 4

Jakob's total rating: 1

(Yes, Jakob's just as tolerable as his dad.)

Ditto, really.

Well, I haven't actually heard the album but on the basis of that eminently forgettable number I won't be any time soon.
Double thumbs down.

I give this a 6, which is 4 more points than I'd give most of his dad's songs.

okay, now thats odd! but you are of course entitled...

I give this a 6, which is 4 more points than I'd give most of his dad's songs.

okay, i know about the taboo against naming Jakob-with-a-K and Bob in the same sentence.  but who can honestly hear the phrase "something ____ this way comes" and not think of either Macbeth or Bradbury (or both), works most of us read before we graduated high school?  how the child of the poet of our times can be apparently oblivious to this meme is beyond me.

He looks more like Dylan the Rabbit from the Magic Roundabout :o)
There are a number of interpretations about The Magic Roundabout. One theory is that the characters represented French politicians of the time (Dougal being De Gaulle for instance, although he was named Pollux in the French version). Another is that each character was addicted to a different type of psychotropic drug, mainly because of the very laid-back rabbit, Dylan, named after Bob Dylan, but also because the whole show had a psychedelic look to it, and many of the characters chewed on flowers and sugar cubes. However, Eric Thompson's widow, Phyllida Law, denied any reference to drugs was intended. And more on the Drug Reference theory Despite the denial of there being any drug references in The Magic Roundabout , the characters all displayed behaviours which may have been drug-related; Dougal Hippyish long hair, has "dreams" after eating sugar cubes. (LSD) Brian Red nose, flighty attention span, aggressive personality, delusions of grandeur. Snails leave white lines behind them. (Cocaine or Amphetamines) Ermintrude Finds everything funny, constantly hungry - and cows eat grass. (Cannabis) Zebedee Flushed red, constantly twitching, hyperactive, looks like a pill. (Uppers, Poppers or Amyl nitrite) Dylan Dopey, unfocused; in Dougal and the Blue Cat he utters the line "Hey man, I'm just watching these crazy mushrooms grow". (Possibly Magic Mushrooms) Ahh, the phantoms of my youth...

Not impressed as of yet. I really did try but haven't heard the magic yet.

Agreed. First it seemed a little tentative, but then the lyrics began to kick in, and I started to hear it in my thoughts. Still too soon to rate, though.
