I have crossed a rising river
Many trials i've come through
I have burned a bridge behind me
Now what is left for me to do
But love you baby

I have lost all of my history
And all the favour i have known
I have walked from Madras Central
All this way to lay you down
And love you baby

In this blue battered memory
I've kept little thoughts alive
The sound of a songbird=s grief
The taste of your lips so sweet
These things have survived

...thinking of doing an acoustic guitar version of Rising River. It just might be a panty-burner.
Can't help but think this song would greatly benefit if they just let the funk shine right through it
Would be interesting to hear his cover of Always Crashing in the Same Car - one of my all time fav songs.
Gotta get this..........

Tried not to rate or comment, but wow. I love the beat, the lyrics, and the power of the song.  It sucked me in. Sitting here, doing the chair-dance. (I hate it when that happens - I'm enough of a dork without the histrionics.)

I feel your pain ... {#Roflol}
I love this guy
are you sure this isn't oingo boingo?
"Rising River" added to my Valentine's mix. RP makes me very happy!

Yep, I'd second that, apart from the chair-dancing thing - I'm in a shared office, after all. Curious band name... 8 from the Nottingham jury.

Bump!

Still diggin' it! Great groove at a nice tempo.
I like this song — I've missed hearing it, seems like it took a break for awhile?  (I still hear it at home & in my car though because it made it on to Vol2 of my RP Favorites compilations!)  {#Wink}
i always like hearing this song.
Would I pay money, I do not know??  But I like this... I hear many Decades in this?

I really like this song..
That guitar sounds Franti inspired to me; "Those who start wars, never fight them..."
Sounds kind of like that "Gooding" tune, only this has some goodness to it.
{#Daisy} yes, I love it baby.            crockydile wrote:

Can't put my finger on it but it just isn't quite there for me

Motley Crew used to "go all the way to the bottom" quite often too.

Niiiiiceeee!
There is something about this song that pulls me in each time it plays here on RP. I think it's that instrumental that repeats throughout the song in the background.

Anyone know what instrument it's being played on? It doesn't sound like a guitar, but it doesn't quite sound like a keyboard either... some sort of synthesizer, I guess?

this melody makes me cry
Its got the Sound.
The groove and what I can get of the lyrics/vocals on first listening — ooooh, liking it!

Kind of Stone Porcupine Roses Tree. I could see why Bill would dig this.
Nice, I'd like to hear more stuff like this on RP!

7 -> 8.
It's getting higher each time I hear it!
This is such a great song. Is it just me, or does anyone else hear echos of Enigma in it?

Downloaded and in the jukebox.

Just hanging around? Or is he getting a little dazed and confused?

Prince on guitar?  Groovy
edit: oh, I don't know.  It just reminds me of Prince.

The first 1 I've given on RP.  That was truly abominable.  "lurve ya baby" bleugh

Vocals kind of remind me of Asia.
Mmmm, retro New Wave.
Coulda been done in the 80:s
Verry likable guitar/bass combo. The cat walking on the synth is a bit annoying but I can live with it.

Oh and I heard enough of this sound in the 80's.
Always liked a bass player who's not afraid to go all the way to the bottom and let the note ring.

You see i'm with you all the way to the end of this one where i find that you don't actually mean it as an insult.  So i'll say the same reasons minus the i love that bit but i give it 1/10.  Oh and i'll go ahead and assume you mean a morass of pastel rather than a confusing situation involving indian families.

This song sounds like the soundtrack to a long-lost episode of Miami Vice. The one where Crockett wore a white sportcoat, white pants and white shoes with no socks.  Where he drove around in a white Ferrari Testarossa at night amid a morass of patel. I love that. 9/10.

Well that just about describes every episode of Miami Vice. Thanks for narrowing it down. {#Roflol}

The song sounds pretty cool. I'll have to check them out a bit more.

I get P.O ed when hearing a great cut and then after picking up the CD I find
that the rest of tunes were written for elevators, or chasing rats, snakes and
crawlin' critters out from the attic. . . . You have to wonder how some of these groups
get signed to a record label when they are one hit wonders..

More to be heard here. I submitted an other song as well to the LRC, Cure for the Common Crush, from the same album. It's currently at 1/0 (100%) so I don't think it's been played a lot.

Because sometimes all it takes is one hit for the record company to recoup its "investment."

Definitive grooviness...

Yeah, this is pretty cool. Good beat, solid bass, sweeping vocals. . .whakka whakka on the guitar. Funky organ. Neat.
Wow!
This one was insta-added and played in no-time. My third added song on RP sofar.
