my car door was open
slip inside was all you have to do
I would have driven you anywhere
anywhere you wanted to
anywhere you wanted to

another sky without a sunrise
my prayers bound to the paper moon
empty streets like broken lifelines
disintegrate into the blue
one more cut and the pain'll be over
I saw it all in your eyes

a lonely heart is desperate often
will trade the world for lullaby

my car door was open
slip inside was all you have to do
I would have driven you anywhere
anywhere you wanted to
anywhere you wanted to

now i still see the bridges burning
as you dance me slow into the flames
the tide of life forever turning
flowing strong the other way
one more cut and this pain'll be over

the blood rose high beneath the skin
we are only made of moments
shooting stars with dreams within

my car door was open
slip inside was all you have to do
I would have driven you anywhere
anywhere you wanted to
anywhere you wanted to

The more I hear this, the more I like it!!  Thanx RP!
VERY NICE! GREAT VOICE! I never heard of her before. Thanx RP!   Dzien Dobry!  (Good Morning-Polish)
Another beautiful ballad but not Anna Ternheim as  I first assumed

It's what Holdo opens.

I actually thought it was Sarah McLaughlin (sp?) lol, either way, they all have beautiful voices
 :-)

I know you've gone the silly route, but it's a little rough to try to sing in this style and fully enunciate at the same time. It sounds off-putting if you sing "caR dooR", kind of like Diana Krall singing, "Now confusion is so CLEAR", on her song Temptation. Of course, not doing it sounds like a lazy Boston accent - pick your poison.

I was thinking maybe the Wailin' Jennys- Arrlington

But I could dig some Porcupine Tree too. {#Drummer}
I love the dissonant guitar in the first half of the song, making a nice contrast with the classical feel of the piano.

Sing something in polish, and I'll see (and hear) how you manage it. 'Muricans,

Yes, many songs have used that progression over many years - this is not exactly one of them.  It sounds more like a vi - IV - I - V progression.  Same chord choices, different progression — otherwise known as the "Sensitive Female" progression. This progression is similar to those of "Diamonds & Rust", "One Of Us", "Building A Mystery", or "Zombie" among many others.  I don't consider it any sort of laziness though; they're pleasant-sounding chords to mingle and lend themselves to a lot of nice melodies.

Wow, this gal can really sing, and manages to get that haunting tone into her voice that'll make me think of things for quite some time...

It's "car door", here is the refrain..

My car door was open
Slip inside was all you had to do
I would have driven you anywhere
Anywhere you wanted to
Anywhere you wanted to…

You may have to go down the (*gasp*) Ohio.  Don't forget to exchange your currency and bring your passport...or get some Luksusowa.

Lovely voice and arrangement. Better than her earlier efforts, but that's to be expected. Wish some greedy American label or producer would get her to record in America and save the Euro.gouge fees. Course she might not get the full orchestration of cellos and violins...

Still, in all, nice album, nice voice and another gift from RP to me...
This is hauntingly beautiful ... it was a perfect fit, after Boy & Bear's A Moment's Grace

:-)
Beautiful, haunting song.  Sounds like she's thinking of someone contemplating suicide.  (I read the lyrics, and think it should be "slip inside", not "sleep inside."  I'd like to hear more of Ms. Lipnicka.
my car door was open
sleep inside was all you have to do

that's probably: slip inside was all you had to do

lovely song.  but somber, eh?

Saw Little Miss Higgins last night and she sang the Panties Song while wearing underwear on her head, perhaps you had to be there. Nice segue.
I second everything you say MrPelicano:
I initially thought it was Lana del Rey, as well.  Some similarities in voice and phrasing, but Ms. Lipnicka strikes me as more melodic, with greater range.  Like them both, though.  Really pleased with how may new women artists I've been hearing on Radio Paradise.  More than on any other station, Web or otherwise.  Much appreciated!  Thank you.

I liked it the first time I heard it.  The second time, I started paying close attention to it--and now I love it!
Here's to Poland {#Cheers}

I was just saying that I liked this, but it reminded me of my Polish friends...  Shout out to Macjiec & Kamil!
Ms Lipnicka has been paying her dues for years. I remember her making her name for herself in Poland as lead singer for a band called Varius Manx in the early 1990s. Nice voice and nice person.

Reminded me of Amy MacDonald at first, had to check.  {#Think}
it's always nice to hear someone of your folk is being played in California, especially when thissomeone is Anita Lipnicka, with a beautiful voice and pretty good style,
but forgive me for saying this - it sounds awful to hear her name mispronounced - it is lipnicka  /lɪp-nɪ-ts-ka/ not lipnika
Strings are drowning her out a bit.  But pretty nice song.
Very nice and a 2nd new artist in a row that must be further investigated.  Dare I hope for a hat trick?
Any Emma Russack fans?
At first I thought it was Carla from The Walkabouts. Very nice!

I actually came here because I thought this was Lana Del Ray, and that I would have to reevaluate my opinion of her.
I like apples, I like oranges. Don't know who either is though.

Really interesting comment...I hadn't put the two together ..and still their too different to do so.
One's early twenties...the other is late thirties.
Sure Anita has more depth...but for sure Lana has girlish passion.
It's apples and oranges...but here's a thought. Where's Lana @ 37?

pretty decent!
It's "lip-nitz-ka", Bill :)

Actually, listening to this song made me stop mowing my lawn and concentrate on the music coming from my headphones.  Fantastic find.

As well it should be. What's next, teaching Lipnicka in schools, public dispaly of Lipnicka and heaven forbid people enjoying Lipnicka! Save ourselfs from ourselfs vote for Rick. (Good tune by the way)
I like this song — I want to rate it now it's played but can't now it has played. Hmmm....... browser troubles, LOL.

From the next room I thought this might be Sarah McLaughlin. No. But she did succeed in stirring my curiosity.

More please, sir!
This sounds like the piano piece: Everyday by Carly Comando
