Some of my favourite colours in the world
Beat against my eyelids with the blues of green hummingbirds
Some of my favourite colours in the world
Beat against my eyelids with the reds of pink hummingbirds

Blue Moon
So white
So scared
To come out tonight

It's too dark
For him
He's just a boy
With a man's grin

Crane and the swan
Wingspan across
Lake's silver light
The ivory night

Some of my favourite colours in the world
Beat against my eyelids with the blues of green hummingbirds
Some of my favourite colours in the world
Beat against my eyelids with the reds of pink hummingbirds

Godiva Girl
Swimming in chocolate
Winged foil heart cardinals
Oh but February stopped it
Red Bird
Scared white
She's just a girl
With a woman's smile

Crane and the swan
Wingspan across
Green apple bites
And Red Apple skies

Some of my favourite colours in the world
Beat against my eyelids with the blues of green hummingbirds
Some of my favourite colours in the world
Beat against my eyelids with the reds of pink hummingbirds

I want to be neat
I want to be clean
I want to be marvelous

Thank me
The colors of it

Some of my favourite colours in the world
Beat against my eyelids with the blues of green hummingbirds
Some of my favourite colours in the world
Beat against my eyelids with the reds of pink hummingbirds

Ok, I'm getting out of the gutter before there are problems caused.

It depends on the tune; the "Chicken Dance" would probably be less than pleasant.

Ah, you must have moved the party up to the roof - good idea!  This is a great song - instant 8.

Did guest number 847 sprain his ankle, or is he just a wallflower?  Nice groove.

BILL AND HIS LEGIONS OF GIRLS!

Still - I love girl-singers too, when the music rocks!
This sounds good indeed!
Not what you'd expect from Montana... {#Mrgreen}

Glad she was able to recover...it would be tragic to lose that voice.
Nice...a bit Sarah McLachlan like but more hip than her later work...more like her earlier stuff {#Bananasplit}

I dig this still! {#Dancingbanana}
She sings like a girl.
bleah.

Hooray! They played Venus Hum!
Powerday on RP? Great set today, Bill!

Word
Poe-ishly delicious!
Reminds me of Rosie Vela's great forgotten LP from the 80s ... forgotten or not, she seems to have been an influence on (or perhaps a precursor of) a lot of female singers that followed.
Pretty cool album cover, I dig it. Maybe I'm a sucker for shades of blue... Song ain't bad, either.

In the video The Blue Man Group did for "I feel Love" Annette Strean is the absolute epitomé of sexy. She gives some quick glances that in a blink of an eye say more than every suggestive lyric ever written. https://www.blueman.com/videoimages/video/ifeellove_h.shtml
That's pretty cool
love this artwork on the cover
I have always enjoyed this song...but for those who hold the opinion it doesn't seem "whole," I wouldn't argue. I first heard the song on a demo of about 4 songs back when I was music director for a station in Indiana. It was much more amazing live at CMJ in NYC...she fills the room with her voice & presence.

Well, for the second time I wanted to comment on the Dr.Who theme, and then realized I already had!! LOL.. So here it is Mike: (click here)Doctor Who (1963)

thanks for the link! Great stuff! You're quite right. You gotta look for those eyebrows tho, they just come once!

I agree a bit with the preceeding evaluations - but the sweetness of Annette's voice throws the whole song to the plus side of the equation for me!
Annette Strean grew up in an idyll setting in the small rustic town of Whitefish, Montana surrounded by her idealistic parents. "My dad was a logger, there were four kids and my mom stayed home with us," Annette fondly remembers. "The house that we grew up in was way out in the woods. Whenever you played, you played outside. You did everything outside. All your entertainment. You very rarely just sat around and watched TV (they only had one channel to choose from). You make your own fun living in a place like that so we always sang together."

IMO, the parts sound nice individually, but the song is totally disjointed. The voice doesn't fit the feel of the music, the drums don't fit the bassline and the bassline crowds the music too much.
Are you saying poor musicianship and bad production? I didn't quite hear the imbalance, but I do agree that it doesn't feel "whole".
She did a live song on the Blueman DVD, wild stuff. I like her voice!

Good comment. They have a nice album cover. Not as nice as Traffic: LSoHHB

I hate to say this, but this band really sucked when they toured with Blue Man Group. Not even a light up dress can make it palatable.
I strongly disagree...saw them in Denver with BMG and they kicked a**! I became an instant fan, despite the electric dress. Maybe you just saw them on an off night...it happens to the best of us on occasion.
This makes me think of Kelli... :goodvibes.gif: :meditate.gif:

I didn't see the live show, but at least on the Blue Man DVD The Complex Rock Tour Live I thought the cover of I Feel Love was one of the best perfomances of the show. Maybe I'm just a sucker for an electric dress.

Every one of their songs sounds the same to me. I kept waiting to hear "honey in a lions mane...." but alas, it's just the same song with different lyrics.
Love these guys......lyrics are sooooooo.........Seeing other dimensions here......oooohhhhh aaaaaahhhhh OK that's the LSD talking

Which version? I've got about 16 on my iod alone. Eight from the original series, and a bunch of remixes. EDIT: I'm really curious to see what the theme on the new series is going to be like. Only a few more months to wait before it gets broadcast in the US (i hope).

really growing on me. It was in my head all weekend, when I'm away from RP. I was surprised it was this song, too, out of all that I hear here.
see video here
"Swimming in chocolate"? Not bad, though.
Hummingbirds are doing something to her eyelids. I admit, this makes me want to do soft things to her eyelids.

ever hear remixes of Tori Amos songs? "Jackie's Strength" in particular? ever hear her sing on BT's "blue sky?" if you like Venus Hum, then take a listen to the above tracks.

I guess many of us found Venus Hum by hearing them open for BMG. They are great!
I've been listening to this CD a LOT lately. Is that wrong?

Same here. Saw them open for BMG. Had never heard of them, but bought the album that night. Haven't been sorry, either. LOVED the Donna Summer cover they did!!
This sounds to me like a top 40 track.. nothing wrong with that but nothing extraordinaire, so take it easy boys

Ditto in DC. Enchanting techno-trio, and her voice soared through the hall.

I first heard Venus Hum about 4 years ago when a friend brought me a cd from a "friend of a friend". Ever since then, I have been hooked on Venus Hum. I highly recommend them to anyone with interests in trip-hop.
Yeah! Thanks for playing Venus Hum. She's adorable and wonderful. :)
