I'd take reggae over classic rock any day!
great stuff that.just made me realize my copy of the handsworth revolution has not been played for some years.cheers bill/rebecca and whom ever it was that uploaded the track.
More Reggae, Dub & Ska please Bill.
Ignore those too narrow minded to appreciate it, they need their horizons broadening and their minds expanded. That's why we listen to RP.

From the first few notes, I always think I'm going to be treated to a Zappa song{#Cry}

I hadn't thought of that.

Still think RP plays too much Radiohead though —- kind of "anti eclectic", if you will.
Did he say "We play music that's a cliche"?
LOVE REGGAE
We were doing so well...

I don't like reggae, but I'm fine with RP playing it as part of an eclectic mix.
cool feeling to it! i like instrumental reggae a lot. vocals have always put me off a bit..

I personally don't like reggae at all, but it definitely has it's place here. But even still, this forum is here so we can communicate and express our opinions, so why not complain if we really cannot stand something?

That's because they are too lazy/stupid look up the definition...and probably couldn't comprehend it anyway.

Hey, if I have to listen to Ane Brun et. al., then you can put up with the Reggae!

You really have to wonder about these types.

Regardless, reggae doesn't work for me, and I'd love to hear more of something else on RP. Just about ANYTHING else.
You make it sound as if RP plays nothing but reggae. (If only.)
I'd love the trip to the Caribbean, but it wouldn't make me like reggae. Couldn't hurt to try, I suppose, but reggae has never worked for me. Drives me nuts. I listen to RP at work, and it slows my brain down when I'm trying to think--fine if you're on a beach, but not if you're trying to get work done. Regardless, reggae doesn't work for me, and I'd love to hear more of something else on RP. Just about ANYTHING else.

You were apparently born without the necessary "groove gene". Some day there will be a groove gene replacement therapy available to you, but in the meantime, take two weeks in the Caribbean and call me in the morning.

Countryman soundtrack is always good
Thanks for the Steel Pulse flashback. I saw these guys open for the late Robert Palmer many years ago. Both shows were fantastic and I've been a Steel Pulse fan since. The only consolation in getting old is the wealth of pleasant memories.

Damn, I missed this. The entire Handsworth Revolution CD was a work of genius, the pinnacle of English roots reggae. I'd love to hear more Pulse. Maybe "Prodigal Son" or "Ku Klux Klan"? And while we're at it, how about some late seventies Aswad too?
Oops. I had this song confused with "Sound Check", which is on Handsworth. This is from Tribute to the Martyrs, the follow-up, and is on that level.
For me, a little (damned little) reggae goes a long way. But I did see these guys opening for the Nevilles a couple years ago and I must say they rocked de house.

Steel Pulse is the greatest ever. their live \"Rastafari Centenial\" album is one of my all time favorites. it just doesnt get any cooler than this. :D
This is cool reggae music. I\'m not a reggae fan, but I like this song.
