Federal subsidies??? Where do you get this nonsense? And don't even consider for a moment to speak for everyone in the US. Christianity is in a decline and will continue to decline as the older generations die off and, if, education continues to get better. The best cure for religion is a solid education.

He thought he was listening2 NPR, maybe? {#Beat}

Or rather J. C. (Johnny Cash NOT Jesus Christ) tinged country. I'll bet you Johnny will feel ripped off! I'm gonna email him. BTW speaking of the other J. C. I'm sure I speak for everyone here in the U.S. when I say that we hear far to little music by christian country artists. In fact I'd like to change the format of this radio station to all christian country music. After all this station receives most of its support from federal grants which essentially obligates it to change. Who's with me on this one?

Wrong bus, wrong stop.
Boy, this is the night of sucko-barfo.

Fantastic to hear this after so long. WTs were very inventive and had great energy in their songs. Loved them.

The lyrics to this song are really deep.
Love that cowbell!!!!
It must be at least 10 years since I've heard this song. I used to love the woodentops, but have lost trac of tem in the past decade. Thanks for bringing them back to my attention RP.

Sounds good till they hit the 'love love train" chorus :-k
I agree as well, the chorus was, kinda, cheesy
woodentops were unbelievable live. theres a lot of free live downloads live and a kind of radio player they have. badapplesmusic.com. give it time is live on that . much better. always seemed like they were harder live. brilliant drummer. website says they are likely playing again. hypnobeat live is hot. some of the live gear on their site beats it tho imho. I saw them support the smiths once. all the kids had thrown the daffodils at woodentops before smaiths came on.
This song is annoying. Please play "Give It Time" which is a much better song by the Woodentops.

thanks, that would be me who uploaded it. there are two others in the LRC, i believe.
Good Move, Kelli! Your refined taste in music is apparent!
wow! long time ago!!! you should listen to the "hypnobeat live" cd! especially "love train" is played very very fast...great band thanks bill:-)
I agree with one of the other listeners. They DO remind me of The Violent Femmes.
Poor. Not sucko-barfo. But poor.
Hey! Originally relaesed om my birthday! No wonder I gave it a ten. Shame these guys don't make music any more. red

Haven't heard this tune in 20 years. Glad somebody uploaded it. I had a cassette of this back in the 80s and the whole album was good. Thanks to whomever contributed this. Upload some more! Woodentops were an energetic and fun band. Contrast this with the Smiths, who were contemporary with this, and who were usually fairly downbeat, and this comes up sounding pretty good.

Not to be confused with the Love Train of the 70's, the Peace Train (from that terrorist Cat Stevens), the A Train, The F Train, Sooooooul Train, The Band Train, Blackfoots? Train/Train (wicked harmonica)...seems like train keeps a rollin' all night long.

Is this the one that was playing when I dived for the ratings to chalk up a big fat 1, and so many other people were doing the same thing that Bill's server crashed? If that's the case, it's a 1.
